  1. on looking at the SAR info. in more detail (there is a lot of it) it looks as though what they did was to change my address on the credit card account that I had with them but not on my current account, so bank statements and any other letters relating to my current account were still going to my previous address and Credit card statements were going to my new address.
  2. Hi all, I was recently reading through some SAR info. that I requested from my former bank in 2009 and I found a note they had made on my account stating "current owner of property bough in post for Maybelate and advised that she had moved over a year ago". I was quite shocked by this because I also have statements in the SAR info. showing my new address and proving that they had received notification that I had moved a year ago, but they had carried on sending letters/statements to my old address as well. It's quite a while ago now, should I let sleeping dogs lie or do you think I should do something about this breech of my personal information? Thanks
  3. Was the prices quoted by local garage King - the cost of the pipes is £159 and£70 plus fitting and VAT
  4. It's a Citroen C5 tourer, 2008 with 85000 miles
  5. Thanks again Conniff Just can't help thinking that if I hadn't have been mislead into buying a vehicle which was not as described and is now unfit for purpose, I wouldn't be in this position
  6. Thanks for that Conniff, I understand that the distance involved was my choice when I bought the vehicle, but the reason I want the repair done locally is because the fault must have been present when the vehicle was sold to me, so I don't see why I should be expected to travel to him to have it repaired, at my expense and inconvenience. If it was something that had developed after I had been using the vehicle for a while then I would understand him asking me to take the car back, but I had only had the car for a couple of days when I started to notice the problem. The vehicle was sold with the fault already present.
  7. Hi, I bought a used car from a dealer on 3/2/16 who is a 6 hour return journey from where I live. I paid a small cash deposit and had the rest on finance. When I arrived at the dealership the condition of the vehicle didn't match the description I had been given by phone e.g., there were scratches that had not been mentioned and that the the pictures didn't show, 2 of the tyres were bordering on being bald and one of the electric windows didn't work. Because of the distance I had travelled by train, and because I was in need of a vehicle quickly, I was put in a bit of a position so when the dealer knocked £200 off the price of the car and included a 6 month warranty (to enable the window to be repaired) I went ahead with the purchase of the vehicle. Some time after getting the vehicle home I started to notice that there was some fluid leaking from it, and when I looked into it I found it was steering fluid and the vehicle was loosing all of it's steering fluid in the period of a couple of days and continuously has to be topped up. I informed the dealer about this and they told me that I should either get the vehicle repaired under cover of the warranty, or take it back to them (6 hour round trip) for the repair to be carried out. I took the vehicle into my local garage for inspection and they confirmed that some pipes need to be replaced costing £360 but the work is not covered under the warranty. I informed the dealer of this and sent them a copy of the estimate, and I asked if it would be possible to have the repair carried out locally as it is not practical to travel for 6 hours to have this done, but they have just ignored my email. Will someone please be kind enough to advise me what my rights are in this situation and what my next move should be please? This fault was obviously present when I bought the vehicle even though it was given a new MOT. Thank you
  8. Thank you for all your help and support over the past years CB and very best wishes for the future Regards Maybe
  9. Thanks cwk and CB, I'm not sure who has changed the date but the entry is showing against Suzuki Finance and I make payments to Black Horse.
  10. Hi, I just wanted to check this out, in 2009 I was unfortunate enough to be given a CCJ by Suzuki Finance Limited for a car loan that I couldn't repay which was through Black Horse Finance. I made a payment arrangement and am still paying off the CCJ (which I will be doing until I die as they repayment amount is only £10 per month). I have paid the CCJ every month without fail and it reached 6 yearsicon old earlier this year and was removed from my Noddle account. However, even though I have never missed a payment the entry is also showing in "other accounts" on my credit report and I noticed that last month the default date has been changed to 12/7/12. Can someone advise me if Black Horse or Suzuki Finance (whoever has done this) are allowed to do this please? I have reported the matter to Noddle as default date incorrect and I'm waiting to hear from them. Thank you Maybe
  11. I tried to upgrade my sons Acer predator not too successfully, now it's that dreaded time birthday lol. a while back I decided that I would try and build one, bought an Aerocool GTS full tower case also have the ram (Corsair Vengance 8GB) that wouldn't work in the predator, also the graphics card (Radeon R9 270 twin frozr), as this was going to cost about £1000 all in I thought it would be best leaving it to the experts and have contacted about 8 and have had only one quote They have quoted: Asus Z97-P Socket 1150 Motherboard Intel Core i7 4790 3.60GHz Socket 1150 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5inch SSD Samsung 24X Internal DVD Writer Corsair RM 750W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply The above parts, combined with yours, give the system a very strong start, with room for upgrade in the future. Component Price for above : £650 Build Price: £50-£75 Install Operating System (Using Licence from prev machine) £45 What do people think about this and any suggestions about the components? I was thinking that the full gamer motherboard with SLI or Crossfire might be better (costs about an extra £50), but not sure. Any advice please?

  13. I wasn't aware about BCOBS until very recently, which is a shame because when I was having severe financial difficulties a few years ago it seems that I could have used it against Halifax when they decided to close my OH's bank account because they stated that it wasn't being used enough, even though it was within the agreed overdraft limit in 2010, and against Lloyds TSB who in 2008 had made an agreement with me to accept small monthly payments to reduce my overdraft but then decided to start taking payments for a Lloyds loan from it without even advising me let alone asking for permission, and adding unauthorised fees and interest to the overdraft which soon doubled the amount that I owed again. Shame I didn't know about BCOBS then
  14. Thanks Bankfodder Yes I did alert them about a possible BCOBS claim in the letter I sent to them requesting increased compensation.
  15. Update - After receiving no reply to my letter asking for increased compensation, which I sent at the end of March I sent a SAR. Whilst awaiting the information I received a letter from the bank saying that after reviewing my case they have decided to pay the increased amount of compensation that I have requested in full. Don't know whether their change of plan had anything to do with my SAR, but who cares, what a result Thank you all for your excellent advice. regards Maybe
  16. Just an update on this - managed to reach an agreement in Mediation, which was actually for an amount that was less than the amount they originally claimed was required to complete the fence repair. Thank you everyone who helped with this, your support is greatly appreciated as always regards Maybe
  17. Yes honeybee I did do that and nothing came up, so thought I would ask on here to double check
  18. Hi, I have just found a website for the above company which looks interesting, does anyone know anything about this company please e.g. what is their reputation like and do you know anyone who has had any dealings with them? Thank you Maybe
  19. Thank you for the advice Unclebulgaria and reallymadwoman, it's really helpful to know the experience of others. I will make sure I get well prepared in line with your suggestions and I'll post up what happens. The claimant is not the insurance company reallymadwoman, it's the person who's fence I hit, who is only out of pocket for the excess on his policy as his insurance company paid his claim in full, but the claim also incorporates the amount that the insurance company paid to the claimant
