  1. if your credit is shot to pieces after 180 halifax will close your credit card down Interest and charges will cease.... if your credit is fooked, it might be good to let the 180days to accumulate. i know this as i used to work for halifax, in their credit card dept,
  2. i hope it all works out for the best, because they way they/dca have treated you is shocking and noone should be put through this. Id be scared to get any work like this done, even a new kitchen being installed is scary when you ready all the horror storys about that.
  3. Your very right, but i think this was on channel 5, where there was a program that featured customers in dispute with builders, the law was initially on the builders side. The guy from the mediation service noted from contracts that these guys make up, payment is still due, and in the eyes of the court should still be made, as per contract. He stated consumers then need to exhaust the mediation service and then court to resolve problems.... What he advised is that consumers need to have a bigger input in the contract that is written up, along the lines of: Break the build up into sections..... pay for each section, and only if work is satisfactory, then the next section is completed and paid for.... It was something along those line.... I do agree with Jasper on this, although he have have misrepresented his company, the fact remains he has done work, supplied materials, and thus is due money, which he is entitled to.... If after that he has breached the agreement, then the consumer must complain, and sue in court if necessary.......
  4. when you miss a payment normally companies would send a default letter, adv if account not brought uptodate with a set time, they will register a default notice against you.
  5. im sure there is already a lengthy thread on opus here... but now i cant find it!
  6. you shouldnt..... i would email dominc littlewood - dont get done get dom..... im sure this is the type of case he would love to take on.... i also notice from his last 2 series when he tackled small firms, usually they went out of business
  7. the insurance companies are at it as well.... as pointed out in watchdog, its common for them to pass your details to a claim company if youve been in an accident for a fee (oh now the insurance are making money!!) the claims company then persuades you to claim, so they can make money from the 3rd party insurer... just all a big merry go round being operated by insurer/and claims company... and we the punter pay more every year to get on this ride.
  8. Maybe my post was harsh, but i fully agree with my earlier posting.... The OP knew they were getting a ticket, and made away fromt he scene.... If there is grounds to appeal... fine.... what im stating is they shouldve took the ticket, and appealed on whatever grounds they feel they could appeal on. End of the days, the op parked in a disabled bay not displaying a badge and when confronting the warden, and advised they were getting a ticket, they fled the scene...
  9. Uncle-buck were really easy to deal with, and very prompt in setting up a repayment plan for me by email....
  10. i cant believe what they have said... i thought there statement is a bit libelious there..... "Is this as a result of legal training or perhaps lots of experience of evading your liabilities? "
  11. i cant see what more the warden can do, toher than stand infornt of vehicle while some irate person decides im off..... Personally.... pay the fine.... if i was on the council appeal panel, the fact you fled when you know you were getting a ticket, would make me more determined to enforce the ticket..... You shouldnt flee the scene, when you know you done wrong..... also to above poster..... if car was a company car ticket wouldve went to hire company/then passed to the business/or the address hire company held for driver.... so driver then further complicated matters by fleeing.
  12. they would say that.... eon's price rise, may be no different or a bigger increase!
  13. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO CHANGE OR COMMIT TO ANY FIXED PRICE DEALS........ The other big 5 are sure to follow suit. its best to wait to see what the rest are going to do.... take Scottish Power... 1st company to announce increases but are also offering a 3yr fixed price deal..... what to say that deal is the best??? whats to say that deal could cost more then other companies standard prices???? Wait til the other annouce and see what they then offer.... its common for a fixed price deal to be offered immediatley after an price increase..... USWITCH arent impartial just in it for the money.... last time, the 1st mention of a price increase that they were advertising all over the telly asking people to switch..... come on Ann, be there for the consumer, advise people to wait, compare, then switch......
  14. Non Disclosure was a topin on dont get done get dom recently..... when a couple set a policy with saga, and disclosed 2 claims.... they went on holiday, came back and the house was flooded due to several burst pipes. On checking the CUE, sagas underwriters for the building AXA refused to pay out...... contents paid out, but it was a different underwriter for this. Reason behind Axa is this..... if the couple hadve disclosed 3 claims in as many years, they would never have been accepted for a policy...... which is fair enough..... Unless OP has made more claims then what we have been told, the INsurer wouldnt have a leg to stand on in they cancelled and OP complained to FSA/FOS
  15. companies pay a FEE to be in the times top 50..... then from an independent poll company 3000 random employees receive an email askin a questionaire.... based on these results, will depend on where the company finshes in the top 50..
  16. people people..... having worked insurance... heres the things... Going back a number of years, storm damage, water ingress due to heavy rain was standard on a policy..... Then the insurers got greedy..... policies never droppped but they added extra t&c's to contracts. Now the measure the rainfall and wind speed at the closest weather station....... and only if it was as bad there will they pay out.... In all of this, the insurers started bringing out emergency covers costing £60-£100 per year, which also covered roofing damage etc.... However here the trick is they dnot check the weather stations....... im sure the person who thought of this initailly got well rewarded by the insurers, cos they pay less out on their main policies, but sucker us in to paying for these emergency covers which were covered up til a load of years back as standard!! This same scenario has been on BBC Watchdog a number of times over the last few years....... Another good example is most comp car policies used to cover courtesy car... now the bulk you have to pay extra!!
  17. yip i had 10 loans.... 3 are cleared, 1 gets it last payment on wednesday! then the other 6 are gone after next month..... my full wage will be mine... aprt from ctax, rent etc.... but hello social life!!!!
  18. thats sounds about right from both companies.... keep all recieved and sent emails, for your copy incase they try court... though i doubt it.... Only pay loan plus 1mths interest..... believe if PDE took this to court, and you can show the judge, that they blatantly ignored your requests for help, he/she wont be happy. Also whatever you can afford to pay them keep, again if they took you to court and 6mths previous you had offered a £10er, and in court the judge asked you to pay £60 (the last 6mths) and you cusnt, the judge wudnt be happy at you, as it wouldnt seem you werent serious back then either...... PDE are *******
  19. do not list creditors names........ say if you have 5 loans... mark 5 loans..... and the combined amount.
  20. let me update op and everyone here.... Halifax administer all Sainsburys products....... when you ring about your Sainsbury loan/bank acc/credit card you are speaking to Halifax/BOS staff...... And as people know Blair Oliver Scott ( and even albion/castle collections) is the Halifax/BOS....... Same people, same company!
  21. You need to take our advice...... you need that card cancelled..... This is what you need to do.......... You need to go to your bank and advise them you left bank statments, card and even chequebook if you had one, in a public place (makke that one up urself) The people there are not what you feel are the most trustworthy, especially the person that gave you your stuff back...... lie thru ur teeth, even tell them this person has been done for fraud.... You feel your account has been compromised....... and for piece of mind you need a new account number. The bank will then give you a new account number, debit card and transfer you o/draft to the new account..... do not mention pday loans to them at all. the only reason this needs cancelled is due to the account being compromised. Do this, or you will have your account raided at will by these sharks.... That i and everyone on here will promise you... Please take our advice. I HATE Yes.
  22. go debt wouldve sent paperwork out... to somewhere, afte not being able to get a response and wanting their money they have asked these people to help.... i think sendin a letter to go debt saing them should give you what they are after.....
  23. would i be right this international legal network is actin on behalf of Go Debt...... bottom of their letter states they are professional investigators.... im thinking this is a debt nearing the 6y mark, and this is the reason everything is moving fast...... thi lot specialise in things such as tracing people, servin papers and are also baliffs..... can you ever remember gettin anythin from go debt??? im sure the claimant is go debt... go debt arent a normal DCA they dont chase and if unsuccessful pass back they are a DCA that actually buys the debt, and id be thinking they way thy are going its a pretty big debt
