  1. I dont think they are worried about exposure, i think they are just showing good customer service, which says somethings for these companies. In future, when your desperate for cash, look at the website. This company in your complaint have nothing to fear other than their unfair charges... in terms of their 7day loan, they make it crystal clear...... i have never used them as they are one of the most expensive on the web. most companies loan £100 at £25 charge for upto a month, whereas this company is in the region of £40-£50.
  2. How can you report it as fraud. your a joke just like these companies. There website shows 7days, if i was a copper, and you came into m y station id do you for wasting police time.
  3. IM SORRY but apart from their charges there is nothing devious here. LOOK at their website it clearly states its a 7 day loan. there is like 4 bubbles, and it clearly says 7days. either you didnt look or you were desperate for cash. I hate these companies, but this time the problem is self inflicted. Also if i can add as well they asked for your pay date so if you default, they know when to hit your bank account.,
  4. Just went to the companies website and hey ho their web account has been suspended!!!?? Wonder whats going on their.... any one any news on this???
  5. I agree/disagree. We dont care about the interest when we apply. we are desparate for cash, the bank other instutions wont give cos we are high risk (defaulted on something previously-in most case). We only complain when it goes wrong. Cos its a short term loan a apr of 25% would not make the companies money. Im sure these companies end of writing a large number of loans off a year, Im not backing them up, but we need to wear specs from both sides. I have fallen foul of these companies before, ie wonga. I think their methods of how they decide to tea leaf from bank accounts should be out lawed.
  6. people need to read the stories fully - National Grid who the energy companies buy a lot of energy from just made £900million profit in 6mths.
  7. i work for an energy company, and the general rule if if the debt is MORE than £50 the energy company can object. Generally less that £50 and they will let you leave. They may switch you to prepayment son, and put the debt on the meter,
  8. I had a loan with wonga over 12mths ago, i defaulted and set up a payment plan, and all went fine. I cant complain..... Well i can... they never answer emails, and you end up calling them. IN august i toook out a loan, and chipped payments where and when i could. the final extension came i paid the 10%, and selected 18th november. when i paid the amount, it had now changed and my due date was 11november!! to my horror. I called and explained and was given a £10gwg payment, and advised it would be dealt with. Eventually, it was, and i cant complain. You will really only hear bad stuff about any company. Wonga did nick £130 off me last year, prior to setting the repayment plan, i called and made a token payment only for them to try all denominations once i hung up. Anyway, big interest rate, small loan. i understand why its that high... lets be honest for a short term solution, with the risk involved, if they did charge 10%apr, the would make a couple of quid off a £500 LOAN.
  9. Anglian, is giving the option of 6 weeks, if you decide to wait for a free fix, then thats your choice. then you got to pay the costs of the water.
  10. Just remember, the water supply pipe is your responsibilty, not the water companies. The water companies offer this for about £25 per year. I cant, and dont see any reason why they would reimburse you money for water lost of your on a meter.
  11. be careful they will also take a payment next month for a credit report service, they give this one month free. they dont make it clear they take money. They take a % of what you applied for, though the lender may offer you less. they are rip off merchants.....
  12. Having work with a bank, the bank would view this as you have bought a chargeable service being a loan. rememebr the likely hood is the bank will send with a lender, as the bank itself is a lender!!! Also remember fraud uis when you have not bought or used a service. in this instance you have, and your email openly admits that. The bank had no option at all but to pay.
  13. i used them over a year ago, defaulted, and didnt call, and got the account raided. i currently have a loan which is due on the 18th, but when i used my final extension i forgot to change the date. this time i called, and they dealt with it brilliantly. they even gave me a £10 gwg refund. Talking is the solution, and in most cases common sense prevails.
  14. Don't fall for this one. its utter rubbush. £20 pm annual service, boiler and central heating and emergency cover. Note the word EMERGENCY!!! Read their website very carefully: only 4 breakdowns allowed. If the engr cant make permenant repair in intial visit and has to come back ( cos he dont have the parts ) you have to pay full costs for 2 nd visit. People ring you home insurance, they offer the same thing other than the annual service for about £80.
  15. I dont have a copy of credit agreement. no deposit was paid as i was skint, as i said they agreed to waive that. they also bought the tax disc. When they said first payment was due 23rd nov, i adv i couldnt do that. they wrote on the credit agreement 1st payment due dec 23rd. First Beacon have confirmed this is on their copy of the agreement, and that they did default me 14th decemeber. - before the first agreed payment was due.
  16. i never made a payment. it gets better. when the credit agreement was signed they noted that my first payment was due 23dec, but the defaulted me in 14dec. how would this stand in court.... could this alone get the agreement ripped up??? They also took the car after i missed 2 payments. though i had called to advise a payment would be made within 7 days..... I think they repossessed too quickly, and think the counted the payment that was never due in november as 1 missed payment ( well they did as they defaulted me before 1st payment due.)
  17. I fell into the yes car trap in nov 04. the repossessed the car end of jan 05. i stayed in scotlan then moved back to belfast. back here i have now received a letter from first beacon legal services on behalf of RAMCO. chasing me for just over 6000. what should i do. go 4months short of the 6yr rule and feel there lot might be aggressive. they are threatenin to make of bankrupt and say they are comin to my house to serve me a statutory demand in bankruptcy. they state that it is unlikely an agreement will be reached and no repayment proposals have been made. this is the first letter and its a scary letter. the day i walked into theirs officer they were not lettin me leave without a car. i didn't intend to take a car as i was skint. they wanted a deposit i didn't have one. they give me the car. i didn't have money for a tax disc. the guy went and bought one. any advice please
  18. Ok, so whats the crack here. I get a card with a limit of £300. I go out and buy something for £299.99. i get my statement in, and i have been charged for being over my limit. I haven't spent over my limit, it is the interest that has taken me over. Now Barclaycard is the only card i know off, that charges you for going over your limit when it is interest that puts you over. Can they do this? Surley if the max interest i can pay on £300 is say a £10er then they should only let me spend say £290. Would this stand up in court for them? They don't make this clear in the T&C's
  19. Halifax/Bank of Scotland. I worked for them for nearly 3years. I worked in their credit card dept. To say the least a lot of their practices are unfair and unjust. I have a number of expamples i could type here. Anyhow in relation to charges, i don't know haw many telling offs i got for refunding fee's:p ! They have various collection agencies they use: Albion Collections - This is the Halifax!! Blair Oliver Scott - Blair is for BANK, Oliver is for OFF, and Scott for SCOTLAND. They will come on and harrass the life of you, just don't give in. Once the account is disfunctional for 8months, they cease to to charge interest and charges. They have a habit of stealing money from the halifax/bos current account/or freezing it, if your in arrears. The worst thing about this is, if it falls over easter, or bank holiday w/end. Your screwed, cos the only people who can unfreeze this is the collections, and they seem to get a lot of time off, over these periods. I left as they were shafting customers, and with chip and pin, they were starting to shaft as well. If your pin is entered, and you claim its not yours, tough, cos the pin was entered. Now didn't i hear something on the news about 2weeks ago, that your details, and pin number can be retrieved from the pin pads??? very good system there!!! Oh god you guys have got me started!!
