I have looked at some evidence for somebody else. Parking managed by a private co.: ticket - yellow to resemble Council/police issued; No sign on entry into the car park; Address of the co. given as a PO Box - all three a no-no in BPA 'voluntary' (read do sod all) code of practice. Why? Well, just look at that very Code of Practice available from BPA web site. What do we see: "In the production of the code for vehicle immobilisation and removal, we are particularly grateful to: Simon Renshaw-Smith, from Excel Parking, who chairs this BPA Special Interest Group, Les Knight of Euro Car Parks, currently Vice President of the BPA".- the very same muppets that run these crooked companies. So, they are writing their own code and police it and we are the mugs to believe in this racket. If you got a ticket, don't feel lonely, frustrated and hard done by the system. WRITE to police, your MP, Trading Standards, paper or tv, DVLA and Ministry Foe Justice. Make as much noise as possible, this is the only way to draw wider attention to this so very British crime, where semi-legal thugs like Simon Renshaw-Smith, who has been to court before for harrasing drivers, are getting away with criminal activities and the establishment pretends it does not happen.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

(Who guards the guards)

The BPA is made up of PPCs. Who's interests are they going to protect?

Precisely! That's why we need to make a lot of noise to get noticed by other, more powerful, public bodies in order to influence the change. In a way a fine from a private parking co is like a letter from Dutch or Nigerian lottery - unsolicited [problem] intended to part us with our money.
