Hello,

 

I just hope i can find some help here,

 

 

I live in the USA,

On 25th of september I wired 4500USD from my BANK fInancial center credit union to Lloyd Bank UK,

 

 

After one month plus. As i came in from travel.. I found out that there was a mistake in the Account name . (wrong Account name )

which i had to run back to my Bank for the correction.

 

 

after 1week my bank told me that the money has been credited to the Account number that has wrong name,

 

 

Now i keep wondering how come a Llyod bank will credit an Account with wrong data..

 

 

its up to 2months now I have no clue on how to get this solved

 

 

.. i do not know whos lying here

 

 

My bank or Lloyd bank or the Account holder .

 

 

please i need advice..

 

 

because I have all the Information from My bank in the USA..

Hi and welcome to CAG. Sorry you were missed.

 

I assume that you put the correct account name and bank sort code/account number in correctly. If you didn't then the fault lies with you.

 

If the bank has paid the money into the wrong account in error based on you providing correct details, they will be liable.

 

If the error was yours and the money was paid into the wrong account, the bank can get involved to reclaim the money.

 

It will help enormously if you can get the info from your US bank to show what has happened.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Surely the account number is the important detail, if you transferred money to the correct account number that's where it should be, I'm not sure the name would make a great deal of difference.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

If the money has been transferred to the correct account number/sort code then its gone to the right account and whomevers account that is, if not your own will have access to it, so if the account details were correct aside from the name, there shouldnt really be a problem

Yes the Bank code /Account number are correct BUT THE ( ACCOUNT NAME ) Is wrong. I have the transfer description given to me by my Bank to show the money left the USA.. But on how do i confirm the fellow in UK Lloyd Bank got the money.. which he said he has not received yet.....this so confusing

Ask the fellow in the UK to send you a picture of his latest statement or cashline receipt.

Contact both banks, yr USA bank to confirm where it was sent and lloyds in the uk, to check if its been received at the account, it may be held in a sundry account at lloyds because the name was wrong, either way there will be a trail of where it is now.

The other option is to try and have the transaction reversed, again thru the US bank
