I have just chased my bank who is the Halifax to see where they are upto with my bank charges case, there is a automated service which says there is a test case going on at the moment and they cannot say how long this could take it may be a year or more?!?!?!?! they are not dealing with the case until this has been sorted. oh my god. is there anything I can do??:? :mad:

Please read the above link. Have you received a letter yet from the bank re OFT case.

 

Have you started court action yet?

I'm affraid you will have to wait. The cases in the court system will be stayed until the waiver is removed. We shall have to see if the banks will appeal also, so it could drag on and on. . . :(

Oh no this is not good! its ok for then to take the money in space of a few minutes but trying to get it back it a nightmare!!! :mad:

Me v BofS: Charges: £13,048.10 #2a/c Statements from 08/01/01 received. Charges:£5,156.39 Information Commissioner's Office informed June 12th who wrote to BoS, June 22nd for non-compliance. #1a/c: passed to BoS Senior Review Team. Discovered 2 further a/cs, and 3 Loan accounts. "Goodwill offer" of £7,424.23 06/07/07. Accepted (partial repayment). 20/07/07 Top-up payments of £2,558.10 & £1,154.00

£11,136.33 paid back thus far.

New claim issued: 9/07/2007 for 3rd account: £500+ PRESSING ON!

Yes, SSL, I am back.

 

I think that for months and months we were all in limbo - but now that matters seem to be progressing once more (albeit grindingly slowly) - it was time that I returned.

 

After all, during my absence, the total that HBoS owes me (incl interest) now stands at a massive £22k (having already received some £11k back before the Test Case). Two more account details have surfaced and there are, I think, two more to extricate from the sticky fingers of HBoS!
