Hello people

I have today got to the point of no return with Lloyds. Ive realised ive been chraged 70 quid this month by lloyds for charges and a potential (without looking at my statements) £3000 for the past three years which is how long I have been with Lloyds.

I wanted to come on here to see what kind of a responce i can get and some help because im sooo lost.

What do I need to do?

I have registered for online banking with Lloyds in order top obtain previous statements for the past three years free of charge is this the right route to take?

Should I open another account else where?? What further stuff or information do i need to collate befroe I launch attack with a drafted letter from this fab site?

Can anyone assist me in the correct process I should take and reasure me that I dont have anything to worry about. Im basically concearned that I will get my bank account closed And as its the ony account I can use to process my salary and pay my mortgage oput from??

Hope someone can help...

R.

Read here and take your time, it is allot to take in:

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/25457-guide-reclaiming-bank-charges.html

First thing you need to do it obtain all your statements, if you do not have them you will have to do a SAR:

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/516-1-data-protection-act.html

Lloyds generally do not close bank accounts, but to be safe open a parachute account.

You will be fine, just persevere and you will get all your charges back. You will have to commence legal proceedings and it will take about around 6 months but it is worth it.

Hi,

See you started that thread, excellent!

Statement of manual intervention.....hmmm not to sure what this is either, but i have seen it mentioned on this site i think. Pretty sure it was someone who was having difficulty in obtaining info from Lloyds, but cannot remember. Maybe someone else can shed more light?

Read up on the Step By Step instructions in the FAQ section (Guido provided a link to this section). These instructions take you through the whole process from start to finish, and should answer most of your questions. If you are still unsure as what to do, post again and we will guide you.

In my opinion, it is safest to open a parachute account. Although Lloyds do not generally close accounts due to penalty charge claims, they have been know to do so, and the effects of this could be very stressfull!

open a basic account with another bank, one which does not have a monthly charge. Transfer your Direct Debits - standing orders etc so you can operate from this account during your claim, and you'll be safe in the knowledge that Lloyds cannot hurt you in this way.

If you are registered for internet banking, you will be able to view all your statements for the past 3 years. Lloyds also give you the option to view bank charges only. This is very handy, saving you the hassle of going through the statements to pick them out! ;)

If you can do this, i don't think you will need a "Statement of manual intervention"

hope this helps!
