Hi my name's Ted. I just wanted to know if you guys thought that a £197 charge [including stat interest] was worth taking action against and if so will the banks will payout, as they may see it as frivilous in comparison to the more significant £5000 claims! Any word of advice?

Cheers

I claimed back 144 inc court costs from natwest a couple of months ago - it seems to take the same length of time as the larger claims ie upto the day before i could request judgement.

I would think you are much more likely to get a payout as it really is not worth there effort to defend.

Thanks for the reply. I have just gone overdrawn again [included in the said £197], which prompted me to this site. Would i have to pay this 35 pounds, considering that they usually add the charge on at the end of the month? Or would a better option be to simply say to them that i am filing for my charges to be refunded and that charging me would only add to their problems?

Sorry if the questions seem inane; im a bit green in this kinda stuff, complainings never been my forte'. Thanks again :)

Just follow the process step by step. Make sure that you have a parachute account especially if you are likely to go overdrawn. also be prepared to see this through to the bitter end. I currently have a claim for 400+ at the litigation stage at the moment with 15 days to run for them to either post a defence or cough up. Expecting the latter.

Follow the proven method described here and you will be fine.

roweski,

Welcome to the CAG site

You've definately taken the first step into claiming back what's rightfully yours.

Spend time reading the FAQ's and the Step by Step guide as this will stop you making mistakes along the way. Use the letters and spreadsheets in the Templates Library as these have all been tried and tested in successful claims. Read as many threads as you can especially ones that relate to your bank. This is a SELF HELP site and won’t do the work involved for you. However, everything you need is on here somewhere.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions, no matter how stupid they may seem, but please remember that any advice that you receive is normally based on experience only and that you should seek expert advice if required.

Once you start the process of your claim remember to open a thread in the relative bank forum, this will enable you, and others helping you, to keep track of your claim.

Good luck with your claim.
