hello can anyone advise on a very obstructive Council. I paid my council tax in the middle of last month (april) and made another payment this month (15th may) received a reminder by post today , but explained to the cashier that the cash would not be to there until the same date in june as im unemployed and trying to get the money together . i was then told as i am always 2 weeks late with the payments i am due to pay the full amount next month £1300!! what can i do , as i see i have not missed any payments and the payment plan is over 10 months anyway , i have paid 2 x months @ £150 when they only wanted £ 2 x £142,

Also, it's probably only a 2nd overdue notice.. which means that next time you pay late the full amount will become due.

But as the guys above say, if you're on bens, then you haven't got to pay!!

Can't you pay online - then you should never become 2 payments overdue?
