HiI'm a newbie. Started attempts to reclaim bank charges from the Halifax in february - finally started court action on Friday. However, I've just realised my bank have sent me 7 years worth of statements nad not 6. I've claimed for the full 7 years - any idea what the outcome will be? Will the court throw it out? Or will the Hlaifax just have to pay 6 years worth?

Don't panic.

You have the evidence in the statements and as the unlawfulness of these charges was only recently discovered SOL has no bearing.

Have a look at this thread on the subject:

Be VERY careful whose advice you listen too

I would leave it as it is for now. There is a Limitations Act , not a Statute of Limitations. Some of us here are now claiming back more than 6 years due to the concealment of the true cost of charges, which they are still doing. Have a read here:

I know how that feels.. i put Ukaviator VS Lloyds on one claim. It should be V in English law..

thanks for the help guys - guess I'll just wait and see what happens - came about cos the halifax sent me 7 years worth of statements instead of 6 but I didn't realise. There's about £1k difference between 6 years and 7 so lets hope they don't notice............!!
