HI I know this has nothing to do with debt but I stoopidly parked on double yellows today in nottingham, I came back about 15 mins later to find that the warden was giving me a ticket, I am aware that I am able to appeal, but can any one pls help and give me some advice to what grounds I can appeal on against the £30 - £60 ticket

thanks

I hate traffic wardens, but as sequenci says, what are you appealing?

I am asuming all the lines were clear etc, and there are no technicalities you are aware of?

I'm sorry to say, but unless it was some kind of medical emergency that made you stop, then I think it has to go down as a bit of bad luck.

You just got caught.:-(

You would probably have been better posting in the section that deals with parking tickets. You should ask the mods to move your thread there.

You cannot appeal against the ticket just because it was given to you, as you

were parked on double yellows.

The only chance of appealing, is on a technicality. Either the PCN has not been properly drawn up, or the signage where you were parked is incorrect.

[by signage I mean either the yellow lines do not conform to the law, or the

road signs do not comply with the law].

If you look at some of the threads on the parking section, you should find

details of companies like PePiTec to give more details on the

loopholes. You could also use the search feature on the forum and put in

keywords such as "road signage" or "Road Traffic Act" to point you in the

right direction.

Had you juped in your car and driven off before the waredn had completd the ticket, you would have been in the clear. However it is easier and cheaper

to find a meter, though I accept that it may not be the quickest method of

getting a parking spot. But that is what councils do-they work out how many

cars park in the area, then come up with a plan where the number of places

is less than the maximum required and wait for people like you to walk in

to the trap.

You could take a look at the threads below your thread to see if you can glean help from them.
