What is this issue in the news recently about clowns jumping out and scaring people, what's going on ?..

Hi Consumer Dude.

Until i read your thread i had not realised what was going on.

This craze where people jump out at you dressed as clowns.

Just been looking around on you tube etc and it sure has backfired on a few and blood has spilt when people do not appreciate this prank.

 

Not clowns but a little story for you while you wait for people tell their experiences of these clowns.

The other day while nipping to the gym to drop someone off i saw this youth,no shirt skinhead look.

Looked out of place it was pretty cool.

 

After dropping at the gym i was on my way home and had to stop at a shop to recharge my gas meter,the key kind.

The youth was there and looked like he was getting into a car.

Ah i thought to myself that explains it,he has got up late and just jumped into his friends car and needed some essentials.

Could not be bothered to put his shirt on.

 

So i proceeded to exit my car.

Well he shot over with his menacing look and said to me,loudly,"I have told everyone else and warned them do you want the same treatment.

I just took this pretty lightly as i have seen a good few characters in my life and said Have you,ok.

 

 

He then said i will smash your fing car up.No one else was around or because he was loud may have been looking from behind curtains.

I would have usually just gone away from the situation but he was pretty close.

 

Well it takes a few insults these days to make my sap rise but he was now pressing all the right buttons.

So i changed my attitude and had no other choice to confront him first with words.Unless he closed in again.

 

He backed away looking a little shocked,you could see by his eyes that he did not expect that reaction.

Said a few more choice words to me and backed away across the road to the pavement.

Do you know what he said then.

You threaten me again and i will call the police,can you believe it.

 

As for the clowns jumping out at people with what sometimes looks like a weapon, which could give you quite a shock,well if my reactions were still quick enough i feel i would knock them out.Who wouldn't.

However this is based on what i have just seen on you tube where some of these pranks have certainly seemed to have backfired unless a put up stunt.

I will not put the footage up as i do not know if it is real or not.

It needs to stop as the elderly and vulnerable,children just do not need this prank.

There was one of these idiots near my daughters school today, said he was coming into the school tomorrow to kill them all!!

 

She is in year 7 and is now terrified of going to school tomorrow.

 

There really are some plicks (typo) on this planet!

What I find quite amazing, is, a Brunel Student who decided to jump on the band wagon by brandishing a chainsaw whilst wearing a clown maske is now concerned that he will lose his place at Brunel !

The student sparked chaos while running through the grounds of Brunel University in Uxbridge.

Sadly, because of this stupid craze, sick children are being denied the pleasure of an event that Clown Doctors were going to provide for them.

 

 

A clown production company has been forced to cancel an event at a children's hospital due to fears they would be confused for the "killer clown" craze sweeping across Britain.

 

The Clown Doctors, who include Dr Rumtumtumich, Dr Lulu McDoo and Dr Poppy Sneezitoff, were due to celebrate 10 years of visiting sick children by putting on a special event at the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle.

 

But due to the sinister trend that came across from the United States, security at the Royal Victoria Infirmary advised them to postpone the event.

In just one week the charity was contacted 120 times by children scared by people dressed up in frightening clown costumes to scare passers-by.

A quarter of the calls to Childline about clowns came from children under 11, while more than a third came from terrified youngsters between 12 and 15.

 

Most calls came from young people in Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham, the charity said.

 

The US- born craze has seen cases of clowns chasing children with weapons such as knives or baseball bats, in some instances specifically targeting schools.

 

A 10-year-old-boy in Plymouth was threatened by a clown who jumped out of a bush carrying a hammer, while in Workington, Cumbria, a clown brandishing an axe chased an 11-year-old girl.

 

Children have also been targeted online, with a case in which a 13-year-old boy was arrested and bailed for malicious communications after a girl the same age in Kendal received Instagram messages from someone posing as a clown threatening to cut her throat and rape her.
