Hello folks ive been looking through the site about this lot and was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers. Last year i took out a loan just before xmas and took the insurance out with it ,now i was made redundant in the feb and put on incapacity benefit and to be honest with all that was going on i tried to pay them back without claiming the insurance. When i eventually did try to claim it ive had nothing but hassle as the bank defaults me most months and the insurance keep sending letters saying they dont have enough details to process my claim. In the mean time they have phoned twice to ask if i want to top up "at competitive rates" lol ,the insurers are called Hamilton Insurance in Birmingham. Has anyone had any dealings with them and does anyone have any solutions to push this on? Thanks in advance for any help. Hibbiejim

Hi

I had two loans with them the first loan I took out I paid £250.00 for the insurance with Hamilton then when I paid that loan back I took out another one and took out another £250.00 insurance, Beneficial finance failed to tell me I still had the first one running so I made a complaint and have just recieved a letter offering me back the £250.00 insurance, If you are not having any luck why don't you ask for your money back if that will help you

cheers for your reply ,i think its getting to be the only option as they keep putting obstacles in the way so they dont have to honour the agreement. thanks for taking the time to reply all the best

Hi Jim. Im amazed that you are thinking of asking for the money back for the insurance. Would you do the same with hastle from your car or home insurance AFTER you need to claim.

If i was in your situation i would send them a strongly worded letter by registered post. State that you find there behaviour disgusting after accepting the payment for the insurance and if they dont respond positively you will report them to the relevant boddies.

State that you require the information they need to process your claim by return of post either by letter/email or fax (if you have one)

Like i was saying, if you had a 10 grand car and paid £300 for insurance then wrote the car off, you wouldnt accept the £300 just becouse they want more information. Whats the difference with loan insurance. You paid for it so they should pay out.
