Hi SIC, have you emailed the new contact details you have to bankFodder, so he can update the email and contact info in the sticky section at the top?

No, but I shall shortly ;)

Cheers Peter

No probs dar£n.

OK - I've had an offer for settlement!

They've emailed me the settlement letter about 5:30pm yesterday

However, Barclays tried to add a confidentiality agreement. When I questioned this, I was immediately told "I have no problem with you crossing out the confidentiality point."

Another concern though was that, by my reckoning, the settlement offer was for around £80 less than the true amount. I've looked into this and it's because Barclays haven't taken into account the Interest accrued since I filed the claim, back in December. I've pointed this out to them and I'm awaiting their reply.

Yeah, I've sent them an up to date SOC with my reply.

Looks like I'm definitely on the final stretch now :-)

'Bout time too, I've been at this since September...Still, it's satisfying knowing that my nerve held all that time.

Cheers.

Afternoon all,

I've now faxed back the settlement letter - They sent me an email basically saying "OK, just amend and initial the figure to what it should be and cross out the confidentiality point", so that's what I did (I kinda wish I'd added an extra couple of hundred quid - it'd serve 'em right ;o) )

Charlotte then emailed me to say that she's received the fax, and presumably the cheque's in the post - I'll have it tomorrow/friday with a bit of luck.

I'm not gonna discontinue court proceedings until the cheque's cleared in my (non-Barclays) account though, so they better not leave it too long ;) The court date's in 2 and a half weeks, and the cheque'll probably take a week to clear. That's their problem though, I guess.

I'd just like to thank everyone on this site who've given such valuable advice to me and to countless others who have emabarked on reclaiming what's theirs:- You're all absolute stars!

Cheers.

Congratulations!!!!

Spend it wisely...

...now can I interest you in some PPI for that money - we wouldn't want you not being able to spend it in the event of sudden Alien Abduction (that's about the only thing my PPI will pay out for - so still better than any banks!)

:) Cheers Dar£n!!!

My plan is:

Cash cheque.

Stop proceedings (when the funds have cleared)

Fill in Survey

Donate what I can to CAG

Buy some expensive, gaudy trinkets(!), or maybe a holiday for me and my good lady

Stick around to give what advice I can, and continue to learn

And then start the whole process again for my dad and my brother! - being a bit rubbish with money must be in the genes

Thanks again to everyone for all the advice, on this and other threads.

Oh yeah, one more thing...

When I've got the cheque and it's all cleared, do I need to PM a Mod to change the thread title/move the thread?

Cheers
