Hi the question i would like to be answerd is this, if i am signing on and my wife works as a dinner lady at a private school only working in term time only, but she does not pay any tax or national insurance

do i have to inform the benifits office please.

I am a little concearned because i have read that if you get the sack for misconduct my benifits jas might be held up for 26 weeks is the case?????????

It is possible that a sanction will be applied to your claim, yes. It's not automatic, though - each case is looked at by a Decision Maker at the DWP and decided on its merits. You'll be given the opportunity to present your side of the story before a decision is made.

Also the sanctions process has been revised the sanction periods for misconduct or leaving voluntarily are periods between 2 and 13 weeks.

Antone is right that if the situation arises then your reasons will be looked at based on your statement and the legislation to make a decision on the payability of JSA.
