Where to get claim pack

A friend of mine is in the process of claiming bank charges. She wrote the bank NASTYWEST a letter claiming bank charges of nearly £5500 over the past 6 years. She got a letter back offering a settlement of £60!!! :o She now needs to make a claim through the courts. As she is not internet based, how can she get a claim information pack by post.

 

Any info greatly appreciated.

Can you believe the cheek! and audacity! A stab in the eye I thought!

Don't think so? Keep being directed to the HMCC website. I followed steps through, buy next step would be commited to payment. Surely I could'nt pay the cost with my debit/credit card on her behalf? could I?

Sorry i see what you mean now, you can download and print an n1 in the bank templates library!

Think you've misunderstood me mate! To do it 'online' means to put the 'claim online'. As I'm not the claimant I can't put my name and details forward. All I need is an address or phone number where she could phone and request a claim pack .

As far as i know she would have to go to her local court and pick up the forms herself, or get them to post it to her!

She cant do it online if she hasnt got access to a computer and a relevant method of payment

You can print off an N1 form for her to fill in as has already been suggested, or you could purchase the Small Claims Self Help kit which contains the relevant forms and some extra information which may be useful to her.

Yes she can get a pack through the post from her local court. Has she made Prelim then Letter Before Action? If yes then it is filing in court time.

But I've just had a thought. Can my friend claim through the small claims court for nearly £5500? I understood that it was up to £5000 for small claims .

Is that right?

£5000 is the limit in which should you lose costs would not be given to the defendants

I telephoned the local magistrate court and evetually got to the right department. They're posting a claim pack direct to my friends address.

Whilst I was on the phone to them I asked if the claim limit was £5000, they replied yes, but in the pack is information about claiming more than this amount - so that's good news!

 

Right, lets get NASTYWEST sorted! (on my friends behalf of course)!
