Hi all,

Ordered a significant amount of Electronic equipment in preperation for Christmas a few weeks ago and it was scheduled for delivery on the 15th of December.

On arriving at work on the 16th of December we found a crumpled, very wet and soggy mess in a puddle in the yard. When we opened it we found it was a black binliner, not tied, and lots of what should have been Amazon cardboard packaging but it was so soggy it had fallen away into a mushy mess.

The items inside, a very expensive digital camera, lenses, iPod touch, DVD's, batteries and other items totalling a significant amount of money, were all entirely smashed and ruined beyond repair.

We took pictures in situ and then reviewed the CCTV footage which shows this: [Can't post links as new user please see youtube and look for video ID: TkOBMCbg0ho]

On calling Amazon we were told that the items had been "delivered" by the courier, and that if we had an issue then we were to return them using our own resources and time and they would then hold them for 5 working days to evaluate them before issuing a refund.

They also informed us if we wanted a replacement, that despite the items being in stock on their website, given current demand and their supply chain logistics they wouldn't be able to issue replacements on many of our items until sometime in February.

If we send them back and wait for a refund then it'll be January before we see it at the earliest, or we wait till February for replacements. Either way doesn't get our family the presents they want before Christmas and to be honest it has entirely ruined Christmas for many of us.

Amazon couldn't care less, they said on Friday that a manager would call us back before 8pm, to which we have still heard nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might get some sort of action out of them intime to save Christmas. We simply cant afford to fork out over a thousand pounds on getting replacements elsewhere then battling Amazon for refunds.

Thanks in advance.

Hi my

Welcome to CAG

Write a Formal Letter of Complaint mark it as such. Explain whats happened, explain how they have let you down, send the Video clip, tell them what you would like them to do. I'm not sure if they will do this, but upgrade the products, if they are out of stock. Send it to:-

lol they're not managing due to extra demand...

erm anyone told them its December and Christmas time you'd expect it to be extra busy this time of year...

Yep well I realise this, but that was the gist of the article. 20% higher demand than expected I think it said, but dont quote me :)
