I recently renewed my car insurance through Adrian Flux and paid a deposit of £150 with the remainder to be paid monthly over 9 months.

4 days later I receive a letter from premium credit telling me that because of my payment history they will not accept my application for finance and as such have informed Adrian Flux.

I have been using premium credit through different insurance companies for the last 4 years, however in the last year my pay dates changed to the end of the month and despite repeated requests to change the DD date they declined meaning that for the last 4 months of the policy I incurred charges for the failed DD for the monthly premium along with an extra charge for a seperate DD for the charges, which they always attempted to get the day after the initial failed DD.

I contacted Adrian Flux who were less than helpful and was told that I could pay the outstanding balance of nearly £900 or I could cancel, however I would be charged £70 to cover 4 days insurance on the vehicle.

Obviously I can't afford to pay the full amount outstanding, but surely I shouldn't be penalised for failing a credit check ?

I asked the CA why the check was not done prior to taking the deposit but it fell on deaf ears.

I intend to phone premium credit on monday but after several unsuccesful attempts at altering a DD date I don't fancy my chances on being able to sort anything out.

Has anyone had any similar experience of this ? any help would be appreciated.
