As the title says really, i did have a couple of overdraft accounts and a loan with ppi, though i cancelled the ppi a coulpe of years ago, i was made bankrupt this year and wondered if i SAR'd them to find the charges and then start legal proceedings to claim it back.

thoughts?

I was assuming the op was discharged but re read it and yes the OR would want that money. They quite often claim PPI themselves though.

Do they really, i havn't heard that before, how would it work with regards to joint accounts?

This happens in Scotland so I assume the OR will do the same. It doesn't happen in every case though which means you would be free to claim once discharged.

Joint accounts would be tricky as I assume they would need the joint owners permission and hand over half the money. If it's a small amount I don't think they would bother.

I would suppose that any refund would be split 50/50 & your share would go to the OR. If you're in that situation it might be wise to ask your trustee.
