sorry if this info is elsewhere on the forum but i couldnt find it.

when sending your initial SAR request off to the bank you are encouraged to include a cheque for £10 to cover the data protection fees should there be any. three of the four banks i am persuing have returned my cheque saying they do not charge for this service, ( woolwich, HSBC and abbey) my point is if we knew in advance who is likely to charge for this and who isnt it could help those of us who dont have access to banking facilities / cheques etc.

also i was a bit worried when i sent those cheques that there would be cash in the account to cover it and i didnt fancy explaining that the bounced cheque was for information relating to bounced cheques:eek:

so i thought here we go lets list the ones who in these instances havent charged ( not to say they never have or never will but just that they havent this time) and we can all see where we are to start off with :p

me against the abbey Paid in full (donation made)

me against the woolwich Paid in full(donation made)

me against HSBC Paid in full(donation made)

beware the scrapbooker, for she has a long memory and sharp knives

This is something that is not hard and fast to work out.

Some take the tenner and some dont.

There have been cases where the claimant has not sent it and the bank have asked for it later......even tho they have returned the money later.

Best thing is to play it safe.

For a tenner its not worth allowing them to use stalling :)
