i am in £1500 debt to a debt collector (through an ex friend running up debts without me knowing on orange phone) . i am 25wks pregnant, own nothing, and am being hasseled by them everyday with phonecalls, and i now have a letter saying they will take me to court. what should i do? wait to go to court? does anyone know about debt relief orders? i am so worried....:|

Who are the debt collectors? It sounds to me like a standard threatogram and I think it is highly unlikely they will take you to court. If it's Arrow Global and Fredericksons there's a whole thread about them on here.

 

I would send the DCA a Prove It letter asking them to prove they have the right to collect the debt. Don't let anyone persuade you to send a CCA request as mobile phone contracts are not covered under the same regulations.
