The account defaulted in 2006 and as far as I can remember the last payments were before then.

It is unfair that I have to pay for SAR when they are hounding me but have yet to prove they have the right to collect or indeed show me why I am liable for the alleged debt.

This is their letter they refer to in 2010 when I sent a prove it letter.

No mention of 2008 in that one so I think they are talking rubbish. I will dig out the default date - think summer time rings a bell. Will post a better date tomorrow.

Conniff - many thanks for your help here, it is hugely appreciated

Ok, just read that. It is true that the debt don't die, it is just not collectable using the courts, so you can ignore them. They can legally keep sending you letters requesting you pay them.

If I was you I would send them a statute barred letter and saying you do not acknowledge any debt to your company, and let them sort it out.

Thanks mate,

Just looked and these are the dates on my credit file:

Date Updated

11/03/2008

Start Date

02/01/2004

Default Date

18/09/2006

Not quite SB so should I just wait until the summer and ignore them or should I send another prove it letter?

Many thanks again

MJ
