My daughter has received a letter today claiming that a consultation she had with a doctor back in May 2006 has not been paid for,

We asked for a private consultation to get her seen quickly due to the seriousness of her symptoms at the time.

This was the first time we had been private, and I am sure that I settled all the bills as they came in. Unfortunately I cannot prove that I have paid this, as I only normally keep credit card statements for about 18 months.

If anyone has any idea how I can prove that this has been paid, I will be incredibly grateful.

Thanks in anticipation,

Canvey

Hello and Welcome,

You could send a Subject Access Request to your Credit Card provider, this would give you all the information they have on your account.

Though, this would cost you £10.

Regards.

Scott.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

You could ask for copies of your credit card statements, some companies charge £10 per month so it would be cheaper to send a SAR which will get you copies of all your transactions during the life of your a/c + a lot of other information such as your application, credit agreement etc. Who knows, you may even find some unfair charges you could reclaim. ;)
