Cancelling FitCity Gym Membership

Hi guys,

 

I've been signed up to a FitCity gym for just over a month and I've been unimpressed with the gym since. It doesn't have all the equipment that I need, the weights area is pretty poor. It's more a fitness gym really. More fool me, I didn't check the gym out before signing up. I heard it was a good gym and had a weights area, that was it, i went off that.

 

Now, my gf is on my account, and I'd like to cancel, would it be possible to cancel the membership based on the fact I wasn't shown around the gym before I was escorted off to sign a contract right then and there? I mean they didn't tell me anything about it...

 

If not is there any other way I could get out of this contract, it's not cheap for what it is at £30 a month. I'm self employed at the moment and there's not much work rolling, could this be an angle to use to cancel?

 

Any ideas would be great, cheers!

What is written in the terms and conditions, I'm not sure if a claim that you weren't shown around would allow you to rescind the contract.
