Hi everyone.

I'm starting this thread to update you on my potential claim with HFC.

Brief history; I had a loan in 2002 with HFC. I then borrowed more money off them. The new loan refinanced my old loan plus some extra money for myself.

I don't owe HFC a penny now. My loan finished with them in August 2009. But I want to look into my accounts with them.

This was such a long time ago, I need to see my paper work first to see if there is anything to claim. So I'm going to send a full SAR to them.

All I know is, in 2003, after I took out my second loan with them, a few days after signing the paperwork, I got a phone cal from customer services seeing how I was treated. I said about taking out insurance that I didn't want. I was then sent a cheque in the post to refund it. I don't know if it was PPI or Life Insurance.

Is it possible to claim back the interest I paid for the insurance during the term of the loan? As the initial sum was refunded upon complaint, it's something I want to look into.

Thank you all for your help.

Yes. If you have paid any money on the basis of some mistake then you can recover a sum in respect of interest.

They won't like it though. Don't expect any coooperation

You should find spreadsheets in the CAG library.

Alternatively, seek the advice of other PPI reclaimers to see what spreadsheets they have used.
