I have had a letter from Advantis credit re a outstanding debt with Eon for £1516.70 for gas/electric.I was paying it off but was then laid off at work so was unable to keep payments up and the debt was passed to this lot!!

Can someone please advise me on how to send a letter asking for a payment plan to help repay this debt as i dont have the funds to just pay it all at once and im scared to call them i would rather write to them

Thanks in advance for your help

You do not need to speak to them on the phone.

Send them a letter recordered delivery. I suggest something simple and to the point.

Re E-on

Reference:

Amount: £1516.70

Dear Sirs

I propose to make regular monthly amounts of £x towards the above outstanding balance on my E-on account. I enclose a cheque / postal order for the first installment.

I am currently not in a position to offer a higher figure as I am presently only employed for 7 hours per week (and am in receipt of ****Benefit) after being laid off from my previous employment.

I will increase payments as soon as my financial position improves.

Please send me account details so to set up a standing order.

Yours

Propose an amount you can afford £5 - £10 or more if you can manage.
