Hi,

This is my first post on this forum, but I have also had letters from Telogram (aka Cap quest) and now H and L legal.

Its been sent to my exes address, concerning an even older address that Ive not lived at for 14 years.

The house got repo'd around 12 years ago, but I settled the debt with the Brad and Bing via Asses recoveries ( sorry AsseT) .

Still have the letter saying ' full and final settlement'

Have found the geographic no for H and L legal, not ringing a premium rate line, but it just goes to ansa phone.

Have had no other debts, so assume they refer to the repossed house.

Not quite sure how to proceed with this one.

IMHO if you know you have settled the debt and have the proof to boot, then you could simply ignore them.

In all honesty it is possibly SB by now, I know Mortgages have a 12 Year limitation period, unlike non scured debts (loans CC's etc) which have 6 or 5 if your lucky enough to live in Scotland.

You could learn a new hobby, of DCA Baiting, if your up for it:p

I would keep a close eye on your CRF if that is a concern to you, just to check they've not been leaving muddy footprints all over it.

Or you can always send them the No Acknowledgemet letter.

But you risk stirring up a hornets nest of unwanted activity, so I would be quite happy in the knowledge that I have cleared this debt and have the proof in black and white, if they go trashing your CRF and it's a concern to you then you stand to earn a few bob out of their innacurate recording of info..

Boo;)

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Thanks for the advice.

Managed to get thru to some village idiot on the phone.............

They said theyare holding some mail for me. I said ' Why callyourself H and L legal solicitors then?'

They replied, 'we just forward mail to people'

I said.,' I thought the Royal Mail did this'

I then said, ' the address is question is 14 years old. I dont want any mail from then'

He said he would try to remove my name from the system, and shouldnt hear from them again.

Wont hold my breath, will keep forum updated on this one.

Sound like a total bunch of (Edit)

Really dont know why they are bothering.

The address they refer to, is as previously said, 14 yrs+ old.

I actually finished off paying off the Bradford and Bingley in Jan 08, with a lump payment in full and final settlement.

No mention was made re mortgate 'indemnity'? Could it be this? Some kind of shortfall?

Racking my limited brain power to figure this one out.....

Sorry , didnt realise t****r was swearing. Could have though of much better ones than that....:D
