all compromise agreements should be checked by a solicitor - generally them offering the compromise pay for this up to £250 but not sure if they HAVE to or whether this is just the norm.

 

It's always worth trying to see an employment solicitor where they can give you an idea of whehter an unfair dismissal claim would hold up or whether it is best to take any agreement they are offering.

 

My mum went through this process earlier and be aware that her company paid £250 legal fees but her bill came to just under £1000 after it was negotiated etc

Yep - I would say so I think you need to see a solicitor and get it all looked at - sometimes they will say that the chances of winning are slim as they did with my mum but they can if nothing else negotiate for you. My mum managed to double her payoff and keep her company car byt the time her solicitor had finished.
