Hi Caro, many thanks. My defence relied on several points, but was mainly to do with the fact that the claimant was in default of s78, which is why they wanted to adjourn, to try to come up with yet more paperwork. There were other issues as well, but obviously each case is different. I have defended a few claims myself with help from the forum which has been invaluable at times, but for the last two, I used Watsons, who fortunately were able to take my case. I would recommend that anyone tries to get help on a CFA basis if they can, but obviously it depends on how much merit their case has. There are some great people on the forums as well and that has made a huge difference to people being able to defend these cases if they can't get a solicitor, which I know isn't always possible of course. I don't know where I would have been at times without the information I managed to find out on here.
