hello all,i have recently cca'd barclaycard and received a copy of the latest executed agreement but not a signed agreement,i have taken the next step and sent them the letter stating as thet had not replied in the 12 days and sent me a true copy the account was now in dispute.I asked they cease with processing data under the data protection act section 10.

they have responded by sending me this:-

A REQUEST HAS BEEN ISSUED ON YOUR BEHALF TO EXPERIAN LTD TO CANCEL THE 'CONTINOUS AUTHORITY' VIA THEIR BANKERS.YOU SHOULD ALLOW 31 DAYS FOR THE CANCELLATION TO TAKE EFFECT,WHICH SHOULD PREVENT THEM FROM PROCESSING FURTHER DEBITS TO TO YOUR ACCOUNT.HOWEVER IF THEY DO CONTINUE TO DEBIT YOUR ACCOUNT AFTER THIS PERIOD OF TIME,PLEASE TELEPHONE US.

Can anybody explain how this affects my account? It has left me totally baffled?

Hi Sandman,

....FROM PROCESSING FURTHER DEBITS TO TO YOUR ACCOUNT.

It sounds like they are talking about stopping a Direct Debit or Standing Order from you to Experian.

So, unless you have such a direct pay't going to Experian, they've misunderstood you completely. In this case, you need to write back to BC to point out they've completely mis-read your letter, and would they like to try again.
