Employment law is very tricky and surely it is better that corrections are made if advice is incorrect? It doesn't make you an idiot - please don't take offence.

Couldn't agree more. Please don't take personal offence Godpick as that is not the point of the forum.

It's great the more people that are involved and the OP seems thankful for your input so that is positive.

No-one can be right 100% of the time, so if someone has corrected aspects of your advice then that DOES not make you an idiot.

The answer in employment law (often on very limited info) is often far from black and white - more a shade of grey!

And just to be clear, less than 12 months service only means the employee cannot claim unfair dismissal. He/she can still make a claim for wrongful dismissal if the proper notice is not given.

Post by me are intended as a discussion of the issues involved, as these are of general interest to me and others on the forum. Although it is hoped such discussion will be of use to readers, before exposing yourself to risk of loss you should not rely on any principles discussed without confirming the situation with a qualified person.

They have gone through all the right methods of investigating me and pttuing me through a hearing... they carried it out today and I just was honest and apologised if I unknowingly did something wrong. I dunno what's gonna happen especially because my manager is really hard to read. dunno.... but will let you know what the outcome is
