Hi

Just to let you know, I sent the first letter out to HSBC as I could access my statements online for the last 6 years.

I asked for £1190 in charged to b refunded from the last 6 years. I have to confess that I didn't send the second letter, 2 months after I sent the first one, I recieved a letter offering me £1050 in settlement. Due to my current financial situation, that money was a god send, so I have accepted (as it is only 140 quid less than what I asked for. I would consider that a result :D

Now on to Cahoot

when you sent it mate who did you send it to? did you send it to your branch or the office in sheffield?

Do I know you??? ;)

I actually just took the letter into the branch addressed to the branch manager. I asked for a reciept of the letter. It ended up in the office in Sheffield though, so it might be quicker to send it there

That's very interesting - they're obviously so busy now that they're not checking up properly on who's actually making good on their threats and who doesn't get round to it.

I was due to file my claim against them and didn't get round to it for two weeks after my due date, but just as I was about to do it I got an offer for the full amount too.

If I was them I'd be seeing who's making good on their threats rather than just paying out to everyone after a certain time!

Round 1: HSBC Current account - £1050 of unlawful charges refunded before even filing my claim! (August 2006)

Round 2: HSBC Current account (again!) - £275 refunded after preliminary letter! (June 2007)

HSBC very handily offer you your statements online from the last 6 years, saves you having to send the DPA letter.

The letter I sent was the first one from the library asking for a refund of charges

Is it on internet banking where you can view your statements, mine will only let me view last months

go to the view statements bit, then you can hit a button that says previous or something like that and it will list the last 6 years
