halifax newbie

Hi all,

I heard about this site from my brother last week. My 18 year old daughter has had her bank account with the Halifax for only 4 months, and became rather baffled by their gargon, got herself overdrawn by a massive £2. It then snowballed because her wages from her part-time job (paid by direct debit) were not paid in full for the month. She has now been charges £914 charges for cheques she wrote against these missing wages.

We have started action as described hear, and yes Halifax are true to form and said she broke her agreement and they will charge for cheques they pay. Their "good will gesture" is to reduce £200 from the £914. We are going for their jugular and hope it works. She of course is really worried and only finished college this week. What a start to working life!!!

Doesn't take long for them to rack up these bank charges does it? Especially at these rates : Understanding Bank Charges

 

Why not start a new thread in the Halifax forum so you can update us on progress and ask any questions.

 

She will get these bank charges with a little persistance!
