Hello again. It might be best for you to start a new thread in the HSBC section where you can ask questions and keep us updated so that it doesn't end up all over the place The best thing you can do as far as collating the information together is arranging the statements in date order and sitting down with a highlighter pen! Put them all in the spreadsheet which you will find in the template library and it will calculate them for you. -
Can someone please help im a bit confused!

The first letter you should have sent was the prelim letter requesting repayment of charges. it looks like you may have gone straight to the second letter so you will need to send the letter before action again giving them a further 14 days to respond. If you have no evidence that you posted the first letter (ie certificate of posting) then you may need to go back to prelim letter and start again. The only way you can find out if they have received the first letter is to phone them. -
You did well... I don't think I would have been so calm How long ago was your mum sold the PPI just out of interest? It may be that you can obtain a transcript of the conversation. As mentioned above, you need to do something about those charges. As it stands now, your mum will be paying that money off for possibly the rest of her life and the balance will be taken out of the estate.

The only advice I can offer is never accept the first offer on anything

Do you have anything in writing you can send a copy of from NTL? If not, doesn't matter anyway would just back up your claim... send them a letter before action giving them 14 days to refund. Make sure you explain all the facts and who you have spoken to at NTL. If nothing then county court. If you have tried everything else then I can't see what other option you have. As long as you can prove you have tried to be reasonable and they have simply ignored you. make sure you have a copy of all the letters and a note of when phone calls/conversations have taken place. Could be useful to send them copies of this info. You should get a certificate of posting to prove the letter was sent or I would be inclined to send recorded delivery... this always seems more serious somehow. I really do hate Moorcroft with a vengeance so hope you get it sorted

You can do it whichever way you like. If you take it to branch make sure you get receipts. If you send it by post, make sure you get certificate of posting. Don't forget to send the £10 fee. Good luck

At which point was I trying to rub your nose in it? I simply wanted the full story before advising anything. I tell you what, I am here as a volunteer dealing with [EDITED] like you but not any more.... it really isn't worth the hassle..... [EDITED: Let's not get personal, please]

My pleasure... But hey... good luck
-
Now then... wouldn't it have been easier if you had said that in the first place? And sorry if it's not reassuring for you... would you have preferred it if I had lied?
-
No... give them the 14 days that YOU said they could have and then send the LBA. Also, if you haven't already, could you post in the LTSB thread and stick to it... cheers
