  1. GE are a total Nightmare to try and deal with, Even in your case where there have admitted on several occasions that no agreement has ever been set up, they still mess you about. This outfit are just a law unto themselves, or they seem to think they are , I would also advise you to send a complaint regarding GE to the FSA. Dont expect a prompt reply from GE, they dont know the meaning of that word along with a lot more I could mention, like Customer care, Treating Customers Fairly etc etc. Good luck getting it sorted with them. Ian
  2. I would say yes it should be easier, It is up to them to provide evidence that you opted in for PPI. Good Luck Ian
  3. Hi, Just like they made the mistake mis selling the Insurance in the first place.. What a Joke. They will see sense and refund the lot , sooner rather than Later Hopefully. Ian
  4. Hi Jonat, WELL DONE Glad to see you finally got it all sorted, I did say initially that it could be a long hard struggle, but as is shown with your case you did get back what you were due in the end. You just have to stick with it with these companies, My own one with GE has been going on since about October Last year and court date finally set for sometime in December. Spend your refund Wisely Now...lol Ian
  5. Hello again Lloyds, No doubt Lloyds remember me.. , Well you have been know to Monitor my posts on here along with your Solicitors... Well maybe you can be kind enough to respond to my last letter on the other matter.. Right..Back now claiming £1700 in rip off charges on my Brothers Account.. Got all statements etc, Initial letter sent of today.. Ian
  6. If you have sent CCAs to other companies and have not recieved anything within 14 Days (12 days + 2 for Post) , you need to get chasing them, Remember if after a further 30 Days (44 in Total I think..lol) they will have commited a CRIMINAL offence, so dont let them get away with it. Ian
  7. Hi Sharon, Hopefully I can help clear up some of your Questions here, When Lloyds put the PPI onto your loan (Ipressume a cost of £2874), The full amount would have been paid to the Insurance company. Lloyds will then have added the £2874 onto the amount that you borrowed and of course Interest would be charged on that amount. It looks like they have offered you the full policy cost back, What they are offering is basically refund the purchase of the Policy and give the Money back to you in cash. If you had the £2874 repaid into your loan account, this would reduce the term of loan bu a fair bit, You would also pay less Interest on the whole loan as Lloyds TSB calculate the Interest on a dail basis. It is really up to you if you want the £2874 as a cash amount that you can use now, or Have the lenght of your loan reduced by around 10-12 months. Hopefully you Understand What Im saying..lol .. Well it is a bit late and my head is buzzing.. Ian
  8. I have them often too...I think it's with Dealing with GE that does that..lol Ian
  9. I would sent them a CCA request to get a copy of the original Agreement and take it from there. The more info you have regarding the PPI the better. Ian
  10. Yes you have a claim, you should also request a copy of the agreement where it states that you have requested PPI on the agreement. Ian
  11. Hi, You should work the interest out similar to the way you did for Bank charges, Take the date of each payment to todays date, use the interest rate on each charge at the rate applicable at the time. You can probably use one of the Charges spreadsheets to work out each one. Hope that helps a bit, Just late and head buzzing just now..lol If you need more help Just shout.. Ian
  12. Hi Buggerlugs, Good to see you are getting on well GE.. , They have to be one of the worlds worst dealing with complaints etc. Well I have just found out some very Interesting Info and a case recently that could just have GE running crying and throwing the dummy out of their Pram yet again. It might not be too helpful for direct GE customers though, But it will be good for anyone who has had a loan set up by a broker. In my case GE were acting as a broker... I am just double and treble checking some bits and Pieces before I shout too much about this, also having some Legal guys look over it before I hit GE with it. Basically if it proves to be correct Im sorry but GE will not have a leg to stand on. Good luck with the FOS m8, No doubt they will be pretty snowed under with complaints at the momment too.. Glad to see you are still fighting hard though. Ian
  13. Hi Lynn, Hope your not working too hard...lol Will send you a PM with some new Info that may have a lot of Brokers running for cover... Im sort o trying to keep it off here until 100% sure on a couple of little points and just in case them Muppets at GE are looking about..lol Ian
  14. Ok, let me know when you can get hold of the terms and conditions.. Ian
  15. Hi, It does make a bit of a difference.. I pressume that the PPI was a single premium policy added onto your original loan. You can ask them to refund the difference by way of Cheque, bearing in mind that you will have to then continue your montly payments at the original amount and for the full original term of the loan. Either way the choice should be yours and not theirs on how you want the refund. That of course is only my opinion. Ian
  16. While it is being investigated you should still pay your monthly payments, your complaint is about PPI and not the whole loan so to be on the safe side I would still continue to pay the monthly payments. so they have offered around £1500 as a refund in a round about way, What was the actual cost of the PPI policy plus interest paid on it. It is then up to you if you accept their offer, if you accept it they would tell the FOS that the matter was resolved. Ian
  17. Hi Sandra, Hopefully we can give you some advice / help to try and clear this matter up a bit for you and your son. Firstly most PPI policies do indeed have a 12 month payout limit on paying out, Most also state that the Max payment is 12 Months PER CLAIM. I am not 100% sure on what would happen in your actual case though. Just my thoughts here but other may agree or disagree with them , but it a starting point. I presume that Barclaycard ceased paying out on the PPI for unemployment after the 12 months ? What would be handy is if you have a copy of the Terms and Conditions of the PPI policy which we could have a good read through to see what it actually states regarding the conditions that need to be met for any payout. PPI is just a minefield with all the exclusions and conditions that they include in the very small print. Have Barclaycard replied in writing stating why they will not pay out for long term sickness ? , I have a funny feeling that there may be a get out clause for them in their terms and conditions though, and that is why I would like to have a read through them if you have them. If they do have a get out, then surely you have a claim on them regarding why they are still charging PPI on your sons account when they already know that the PPI is of no use and he cannot claim on it, but they are still charging for it. Ian
  18. What you can do is to Calculate your Monthly Premium times the number of months that the term has been reduced by to give you an equivelant amount of what they are refunding for the PPI. Ian
  19. You need to take the issue up with loans.co.uk, Have a read of this too , it may be of some help.. FSA fines loan broker £455,000 for PPI selling failures If you need any help just shout. Ian
  20. Hi Matt, Firstly well done for standing up for your rights against these companies. I pressume the Insurance was to cover for breakdown etc and not loan Payment Protection, Though the principle of a nil refund is pretty common in PPI insurance as well. A bit like the Extended Guarentee's that the Like of Dixons, Curry's Etc try to flog you at every chance, which is usueless as we all know.. It seems pretty common fact too that the Bigger the Company the worse the Customer Service is. or is it just me that has that impression..lol Well done and thanks for the Info too Ian
  21. Ahh, Good to see Tesco's making an appearence now too.. Will be very interested to see what their response to your complaint will be. Good Luck Ian
  22. Your first complaint should go to the company that sold you the policy, The actual insurance companies will have set up the policy on Information etc sent to them by the company that set up your loan, Though if the company that set up the loan and were acting as agents for the insurance company then it may be an idea to try and get them involved too. This is an issue that I am looking into in my own case at the momment. Good Luck Ian
  23. Have the mentioned if the term of the loan will be reduced ? Ian
