  1. yep, their claim is that they cannot stop a card payment on a rolling agreement. Am goint to talk io TS and OFT later today, will let you know, so far the official help places arent much help, debtline basically said yes they can add charges and interest if its in the contract and didn't seem to hold with the original loan + interest theory, very confusing.
  2. payday uk was all through email to [email protected], I owe £687.50 , they accepted £35 for 3 months, then a review, my guess is they may be expecting me to pay the final payment of 582 after 3 months, or waiting to see if I stick to what have said so far, I figured as long as I didn't miss any payments, I would be in a good position to renegotiate payment of the rest after 3 months, I do have their bank details if you need them. A warning to anyone else who has only cancelled their card, close the account you used at the earliest opportunity, otherwise your bank will keep paying the odd transaction and cause you problems. A&L paid a transaction , I just got funds in in time to avoid charges, they paid 2 more the other day, £15 and £25 so, again I transfered the money over, spoke to them, they were no help at all, so plan was, clear it and close the account, but nooooooooooo , what do A&L do , pay out another £100, I can't pay any more in, so looks like it will go O/D , any ideas on how else to stop them. Opendoor loan have refused all offers of a payment plan, now have had their we will send doorstep agents letters, great, my dog could do with some sport.
  3. they have a habit of offering you an extra hundred or so, but if you look at the contract, they include a months interesst, so in my case , 350 loan, owed 486 with int, they offered an extra £110 , but the loan would have been for £586 , this was 5 days after I had paid the rollover interest. that's when i told them no thanks pal . so be very careful if they offer you more money, check the amounts carefully. my £350 loan would have jumped to £586, I would have got £110, they would have got an extra £135, then interest on that, they certainly know how to fleece people.
  4. I see what asmilecostnothing is saying, it's that perfect world thing, in an ideal world, CFO would get slapped down hard for their behaviour, in reality, they are getting away with it, yes we are all sending off our complaints, but this all takes time, and in the meantime, they are making peoples lives a misery. I have not heard of one person on here getting anywhere with them. I myself have had numerous issues, ringin me at work etc, stopped that after my email though, now we just trade insults by email, I await their dogs , am actually looking forward to having a go at them, they deserve it. But for others, I know it will cause upset, which is wrong. I shall just keep coercing them and giving them rope to hang themselves with , then use it all against them if I need to. I may not have the legal knowledge yet, but I learn fast and I don't like to lose. Sillygirl, you give out a lot of good advice on here, have used a few of your words already, thanks, keep em coming. looks like I might need some advice off you soon, looks like CFO are still taking money out my A&L account, I left a balance of 31p , they have paid a £15 an a £25 card payment, even though I havent got a card, woman on the phone said they can't stop it if it is a rolling payment. my guess is its CFO just come off the phone from cons direct and debt line, who seem to think I can do nothing about the charges as they are in the contract, very confusing, going to ring TS later, see what they say, need to close A&L asap , then I thnk its worth looking into claiming back all the money A&L stole off me in charges.
  5. keep whatever you have offered to one side, if you go to court, it shows your commitment, if it drags on, you may have the full amount anyway, put it away and consider it gone as though paid to them.
  6. spot on about the card details, always try to control the payments yourself. Remember, people are more likely to come on here to moan about bad treatment from these companies, if they are ok with you, most wouldn't bother writing about it. There seems to be no consistancy to treatment from these people, I do believe it is a combination of, the circumstances of the loan, your history with the company , your attitude to them, which employee you get and what you can offer, plus a few other factors , with all that, we are obviously all going to get different experiences, so please don't automatically assume that if someone says , " they were fine with me" that they are an employee, instead, look at what they did to get such treatment. we are all here for the same reason, help . Reading on here about some of the people who have managed to deal with the various devils, is what helped me decide how to deal with some of them. Everybody has different circumstances, different needs and expectations, some are hell bent on paying only the loan + interest, in some case this leads to nothing but agro, drags the issue on when for example for the sake of £60 extra over 8 months it could be over with no fuss. In my situation with Txt loan for example, they tried to add £150 ,I paid first payment, but maintained that the charge was unfair, offered to meet them half way as I do believe in fairness all round, pointed out I would pay it , then take them to court to claim it back, they lowered it to £60, less than my offer(didn't like the fact I looked fairer than them) , yes I could have fought and pushed till they told me to bugger off and passed it over to a DCA to drag on, instead I thought an extra £60 on £350 over 8 months was fair, I couldn't get a loan at that rate elsewhere. My point is, each to their own as it were, decide what you want from the company, in the case above, I pointed out that by making my offer, I was in fact being fair to the point of acknowledging that I felt I should pay extra too, but not as much as they said, also that I had made a payment as agreed . now, think about how good that would look in your favour if they ever went to court should something go wrong. If you want to argue all the charges fine, you have that right, if you feel that you want to deal with it without agro and don't mind paying a bit more for the fact that you can pay how you want to and over the time you want then remember , if you offer them a bit they will help, if you go in shouting I want I want and I'm not doing this and not doing that, you are lucky if you will get any help from them, you may get there eventually, after a lot of stress and a lot of hassle. Many ways to skin a cat and lay a few mines for later if needed. Sorry rant over. Sillygirl I went down the same route, borrowing to pay the previous loans off, convincing myself that you can catch them up and reduce them, it doesn't work, they keep growing till you reallise, call a halt to it and end up here.
  7. there are plenty of template letters around the site, although not sure if there is one for that , I think it's more of a court arguement, but soeone who knows better will prob put you straight.
  8. £700 is a joke, I don't mind a little for the fact I've defaulted and want longer to pay, but jeez, I'd be emailing them telling them where to go on that much.
  9. Check wider on the site, try banking, I have seen a letter/instance whereby the bank in paying the amount like it or not are agreeing to give you an overdraft and have to charge agreed OD rates, look for it as there is more to it that will help you .
  10. I hope your not meaning me lol, I didn't default, because I paid more than the interest amount, I actually cleared some of the capital. I have no idea how they work their system, as you say they automatically roll over, when I quieried the fact that the site showed a £15 charge and that the interest still showed as £45 , she asked if i was paying the extra £95 left, I said yes next month, and asked what the interest would be, she said if I paid next month(£95), she would close the account, called me a valued customer, what can I say but my own experience . In fairness, I have had a few loans with them, always paid in the past and this loan has rolled over 4 times, so they have had their money. I do think that a lot of the time, if you go in aggresive to start, you will get aggression back, always start out on friendly terms, as though you are asking a friend for a favour, if that doesn't work, bark at em then bite.
  11. All you can do is offer them money and see what they say , Payday uk were fine with me to be honest, I offered £35 a month with a review after 3 months, they took it on straight away, didnt add much to it either. best thing is be straight with them, tell them your circumstancs have changed and offer what you can .
  12. Trudy Thankyou for those kind words, nice to know its helping. There seems to plenty plenty of general rules on how to deal with them and what to stick to , I say pick out what suits you and your situation. I have found that if you try and be reasonable and fair, they will try to help. except CFO of course, morning Erika , Txt loan for example , they accepted the offer of payments, but added £151 to the final score as it were, I agreed to the payments, explained that I felt it was unfair,(took 3 goes) but offered a compromise, they came back undercutting that making it original amount +1 x interest , plus 1x interest, now I know many say original loan and 1months interest, but in my view, 1 month interest on top of my final debt is reasonable for the convienience of paying over 6 months, hassle free. 5/10 is a bit of a low payment, but as they say, stick to what you can afford. Cap Fin one, that's a tough one, I don't know how much you owe, but I can assure you now, they will let you keep paying you 5/10 quid while adding 25 a day. With them it might be worth just keep offering them the money, but in reallity, they wont help, it may pay you to just go through the motions as it were with this company, you know you wont get anywhere, so focus on those who will help. keep paying your £5 t them though, then if by some miracle they go to court, you show you want to pay. Depends how much you owe though, only you know the full extent. just don'.t throw good money at them that could clear others off. Email Errol @ wonga, his address is around, they are good, freeze everything for you , QQ seem a bit hit n miss, theywill take plans, paying is a problem though. As for your bank, if they have a rolling agreement, they will be able to take money , a new account is advisable, I opened two in the end, one for salary and one to pay the PDL co.s Halifax seems to be the defaulters account of choice. I read on here that payday express are not good, so I chickened out and made that the one I paid. I have emailed money box, no reply yet , will let you know when I do get one. Let us know how you get on Trudy please.
  13. Ok I need a bit of help here, QQ are pretty much ruling out any form of payment other than their ways, I wanted to use faster payment or standing order, even paypal(only full amount apparently. Anyone had any luck finding a way of paying them without giving them bank details ? Txtloan reduced their charges to less than I had said I would consider fair, so far so good.
  14. they don't want to agree to anything other than full payment on the phone.
  15. I've just had the following from them , I've been emailing with my offer, even paid what I said I would, they add it faster than I can pay it. Good Morning, Your account with Capital Finance One is in serious arrears. I would like to make you aware that your account is in serious arrears and incurring late payment charges and fees regularly. In order to stop these charges you will need to make the minimum payment on your account which is the original interest. If you are able to do this we can: Stop all further interest and fees incurring Potentially remove a number of your late payment fees Defer your loan until your next Payday Stop all collection actions on your account Stop your account being passed to Daniels Silverman – External Door to Door Collection Agency Please reply to this email and I will notify you of the payment that needs to be made on your account and how we can make this payment in order for me to assist. I am unable to assist with repayment plans; we need to make the interest payment in full. Finally please remember that if you have a friend or family member who can make this payment for you, we are able to do this on their Debit Card providing we have their verbal confirmation, or alternatively you can transfer the funds into our bank account using your full name and DOB as a reference. Kind Regards Nicola Coleman theyjust don't want to know, I have told them I will dispute their charges, no response to this even though it's in the email they used to reply to . no help at all.
  16. might be best, payday uk will accept smaller payments initially , so if you want to and can, maybe concentrate on payday express, offer payday uk 3 months lower payments by which time you should be rid of payday express and able to deal with payday uk, then never go near them again.
  17. have to admit, after reading on here, and the fact it was only £200 I paid them off, you might be better off paying more than the interest and reducing it to pay it off next month? depends if you feel up to fighting them or if the extra cost of doing it like that isnt too much.
  18. yes, but as I said, first have a good read of some of the experiences on here, it will give you an idea of how to proceed, also good advice re changing banks, halifax easicash seems the easiest to get and opens in a week . good luck
  19. the general advice on here is to try to keep it via letter/ email, if you email both explaining your situation has changed and you need to pay the loans over a longer period. Payday uk may want you to default first, also be careful offering more than the deferal amount as they may try to insist you just defer, you don't want that. No need to panic though, have a good read around the forum , there are some template letters on the site that you can adapt.
  20. you could try asking them for bank details to make the payment yourself
  21. depends how much you can offer as to how best to approach it, main thing is don't panic, I found Payday uk ok to deal with, paid payday express off so can't say with them, follow the usual advice, cancel your card etc, I am sure someone with more advice will follow .
  22. I have to admit, they have been as good as gold with me, although I didn't default, instead I paid half, they froze the rest till the following month, no interest, although it has rolled over a view times, so they have had a good pound of flesh. but still good enough, can pay it off at last , can't say how they are if you default, but seems to me all the companies have some good stories and some bad ones, except cfo of course, they just have bad ones.
  23. They will try to charge you more, you just have to remember a few things ,they will lie to , they will try to scare you into paying, bully you into paying, but they will drop all the extras if they do go to court, and if they do go to court, as long as you show you are trying to pay it, will make you pay what you can afford and no more , also you will only pay the original amount plus 1 month interest. If you can avoid defaulting on WDA and minicredit as they seem the worse ones. If you can pay £300 per month, it might be worth focusing on these two, as the others may set plans up that will start the following month, just an idea, it worked for me, I paid the worser ones off, left the others and negotiated payment plans for the following month, I felt just the same as you, scared I would lose everything, just don't ignore it and do as much as you can to solve it. On a brighter note, you don't have Capital finance one on your list , silver lining to every cloud. If you do feel you need help, use one of the free debt help services, not one you pay for.
  24. Even with a new account number, it's in theirT&Cs that they will give your new numbers to previous companies, sillygirl1 found it the other day . Best bet is a bank in a different banking group .
  25. Cjhughes01 It seems daunting at first, but once you start to get somewhere with them you'll feel better, if you start off reasonable with them , most will be ok in response, the others you may need to growl at, but the letters for that are all on here to help you.
