  1. I quite agree BC!!! How are you? Doing okay I hope? How are the hooded Crows? We've had a Jay visiting our garden, he is stunning! I shall try to get a decent photograph host and put up a pic
  2. Sorry I have only just seen your replies, I've not been on in a while and couldn't find the thread Odset's right, a brand new political party is what's needed - only thing is, political folk are greedy folk, no matter what party they're from, it would be nice if the people could run the country! Not gonna happen though, and wouldn't work! I really don't know what the answer is
  3. I have to have at least a window in each room open a crack even in the coldest weather, so in this weather it's ALL windows WIDE open Thankfully we live in a very quiet area, but I still wouldn't leave my downstairs ones open during the night - the only thing is we're surrounded by countryside, woodland and a river, so we're plagued by midgies, horseflies and mozzies - so I have some insect screening on order at the moment, and I can't wait!
  4. I'm as happy for them as I would be for any other couple who'd had a healthy baby, but as renegadeimp said, CaMoron is using it for his own political ends, which is very inappropriate! The press ram everything down our throats till we're sick of it! I'm sure Catherine and William are as just as fed up as us, if not more! Other than that, I too am not a Royal fan, I don't dislike them, but I don't see the point if we have a government! Oh well, that's just the way it is I suppose!
  5. Oh, one of my pet hates are door slammers BobCat, I would not be able to keep my mouth shut if I were you! Daley from Big Brother has made me swear! I know Hazel has been chasing him, and has come across as a homewrecker, but he did tell her he wasn't with his girlfriend! HE is the only guilty on in that scenario! Then, last night, he becomes aggressive and threatening to her!!! Threatening to "nut" her! What an absolute animal! He so reminded me of my ex, my blood was boiling, even down to where he still tried to blame it on Hazel for feeling intimidated by him!!! Men like him need teaching a lesson!
  6. It's mostly the same all over at the moment I think, the prices seem to get higher every day! Buy a cucumber, a loaf of bread, make some sandwiches, and make some scones or sponge cake, a flask of tea or coffee, and a blanket - and go sit somewhere in the quiet, under a tree if possible, you'd be surprised how much you'll enjoy it! We did it yesterday up at the Cow and Calf My friend has just moved there BobCat, she loves it! We're going to visit her at Christmas or new year so I shall be bringing some clotted cream back with me lol!
  7. Two of my favourites.....Lucy in the sky with diamonds and strawberry fields forever Also, car boot sales, Stone Henge, Glastonbury, clotted cream (loved that when I visited my Aunt and Uncle as a child), a good strong cup of tea, afternoon tea with sandwiches, carry on films, vintage car shows, the Grand National and Ascot, Wimbledon.....
  8. For me? Rolling countryside, wild birds, Sunday roast dinners, smoking chimneys and picnics
  9. Oh Nystagmite, I'm delighted for you! JTR's are cracking little dogs! We had our old boy till he was 19, we miss him so much Although you need tons of energy, and constantly keep their energy focused on positive things huh? Lol! Which is why if we get another, we're looking at getting something a little calmer And were thinking of a Bichon Frise, as I'm very allergic to animal hair, and Bischons tend not to molt much!
  10. Lol Nystagmite!!! That's great! I'm getting an extra few feet on my garden, it seems the boundry line has been wrong loool!!! So happy, I can plant even more now
  11. Oh that makes two of us Nystagmite! I've been getting blurred vision too, and blue flashing lights, it's like I'm in a disco sometimes I thought it was Migraine at first, but I do think it's something to do with my eyes, so I'm off for an eye test next week! I hope yours goes well love X
  12. And this would be the only reason why I would ever consider doing one
  13. It's funny, but someone who is capable of that does not have a good energy about them, they can't have, and for years we had nothing but bad luck, things going wrong etc.... Now, the change in our lives is unbelievable! It's as though every bit of negativity, and negative energy they emitted has totally dispersed! We have never had things go so well for us, it actually feels as though a dark and nasty rain cloud of doom has been blown away from above us and our home, and has been replaced by light positive energy - absolute heaven!!
  14. All these thieves!!! I had my bank account cleaned out once, by a "relative" (for want of a less endearing word)! At first it didn't even enter my head when we noticed it had been done, my card was used online and over the phone to the tune of £1200, buying expensive items! The relative was acting nervous, but I put that down to worry, and her accomplices were acting suspicious. It was a week before Christmas, so a friend loaned me the money, as the bank was reimbursing it (that's why there was so much, it was Christmas money saved), anyway, for a couple of days after, this "relative" behaved quite out of character, getting up very early in the morning, yet not coming out Christmas shopping with us! Then I received a letter in my OH's full name, including his middle name which he never uses, and nobody knows, from John Lewis, regarding some items bought with MY card, that had been rejected! So, the "person" who had robbed me used my OH's "FULL" name on MY card, and gave MY address for delivery, hmmmmm! I never told the "relative", but the bank had their suspicions, and passed their suspicions on to the police, but there was not enough evidence. Anyway - this "relative" left our house and our lives a short while after for good thankfully, and hey presto, what turns up in the room the "relative" was using? My OH's birth certificate, with his middle name on! I know they did it, and they know they did it, but they're the ones who are going to have to live with it, and face the Karma for it, which I know they're getting a taste of now, including their accomplices! Absolute **** of the earth in my opinion, and I wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire! I know it's awful when you're a victim of theft, but I do believe in Karma, they will get theirs.
  15. Awwww Conniff, thank you for sharing this!
  16. As others have said, it wouldn't surprise me in the least, in my opinion banks are a law unto themselves, and are at times legalised thieves when it comes to raising interest rates when it suits them, and making it difficult to pay more than the minimum on credit cards etc. But the other reason I believe this could be plausible, is so many customers (Santander) had their overdrafts taken from them going back about 2yrs ago now, it didn't bother me as I don't use mine, but it came to light that their reason for doing this to everyone was to manipulate their lending statistics. Those who wanted their overdrafts had to apply again (even though it came automatically with the bank account in the beginning), therefore it appeared that their lending had gone up! They just forgot to mention that the overdrafts had probably dropped as people such as myself who originally had the facility, didn't bother applying! So it was less than the previous year! Craft huh?
  17. Lol no! I've not seen them CB, I shall have to see if I can find those ones ! These ones are a nice regular shaped piece of oak, nothing fancy, with a plain cream ceramic mouse sitting on it (I'm quite a plain person), I do love those massive polished driftwood ones, that have the iron ring handle on them, but they start at around £50 upwards! I'm sorry, but there's no way I could justify paying that for a doorstop lol! Well, I smiled like a maniac today - we had the most magnificent Jay visit our garden and I got piccies!!! My goodness, what a spectacular looking bird they are! I was in awe, and shaking so much I could barely hold my camera
  18. Yeah they're okay, we don't have a great deal to do with them, most people keep themselves to themselves around here, there's one neighbour who knows everything here is to know about all the neighbours, there's always one huh? But he's a sweet old boy! How's you anyway DD? Good I hope? I smiled today because my Parlane mouse doorstop arrived! I've wanted it for ages, but they're quite hard to get hold of, I'm looking at getting the Hedgehog one next
  19. This is a great post Aridude! What made me smile today is my neighbour put up laminated signes on his fence that say "please clean up after your dog", they also have a little doggy on them with a person behind - anyway, we've had rain, and they've run, so it now looks like the dog is pooing itself
  20. Happy weekend to you too Blondie!!! Oh, and we've had wind, cloud and rain to Nystagmite!
  21. She's not had a penny from him! And he got rather a large sum of money, we're talking tens of thousands - he's bought a house with his Mum, but doesn't have his name on the deeds, because he's claiming benefits, also he works on the side at the family business! The CSA ordered him to pay £5 per week between three (her eldest three are to her first Husband) because he's on benefits, and he doesn't even give her that! But you know how slow the CSA are for putting other means of getting it paid in motion! They're beautiful children too, he won't realise what he's missed out on till it's too late!
