  1. I agree! What about those who are disabled, but manage to get a job that fits around their disability? they now have to pay for the very permit that ensures they can stay in their job! Like I say, me personally, I've not long had my blue badge, and always paid before as I felt like I would be freeloading - and £10 isn't a vast amount, so it's really not about the fee, it blatant discrimination between the disabled!
  2. He's doing okay Nystagmite, thank you for asking! It's just he misses out on a lot of nursery because of his immune system getting so low, he becomes neutropenic, which is even harder because he's a twin, and she can quite happily go off to nursery! He's been on the treatment now for 18mths, and hasn't had one single infection in his hickman line, or his "wiggly" as he calls it I don't know how my friend does it, she has five other children and is on her own - their Dad walked out on her just before he was diagnosed, he'd come into some money, so wanted to live the single life! And she's had no support from him whatsoever! And yes DD, I will definitely mention it to them!! I hope this little fella gets his IPad!
  3. Hi you lovely people, I hope you're all well? I just wondered how many of you know about the Governments benefit reform that has resulted in the recent charge of £10 that's been brought in for disabled blue badges? There are certain exemptions of the charge, these are: Under 16 Terminally ill Severely disabled armed forces personnel and veterans I have a blue badge that's due to expire this month, and even though I've been entitled to one for quite some years, the one that is just about to expire was my first one, as I just paid for parking, and felt funny about applying for one, almost as if I was freeloading. But my OT told me I was more than entitled to it, and talked me into applying for it. Now personally I think £10 is not much at all for three years parking, and a huge concession - what's annoyed me about it, and hundreds of others according to my local council, is the exemption criteria. It's as though, if you're not under 16, terminally ill (so not going to live), or have not been blown to pieces fighting for your country, then your disability isn't as valid/important/life changing/restricting/disabling as those who fit the criteria. I certainly am not having a go at those who fit the criteria, personally - and where armed personnel who have been left disabled fighting for this country are concerned, or those with a terminal illness, do not get anywhere near the help or support they should! But yet again, rather than increase those who fit the criterias level of help, support or benefits, they're menialising those who don't fit the criteria, taking from them, in order to make those who do look as if they're getting extra help! Much the same as was mentioned by Government with regards to civil servant jobs up and down the country - rather than raise the wage of those struggling to survive on their wage down south - they want to cut the wages of those doing the same job up north to "make it fairer"! I just hope that people can see that what they're doing is not helping people, or giving them more, not even for doing a job such as a nurse - no, they're taking from people to "make it fairer"!!! Anyway, my little rant over Hopefully anyone who wasn't aware of the charge now has the right information - I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post up links to the site with all the information on? If I am I will
  4. DD, thank you so much for posting this up! I am going to donate my old phone! I wonder if they would help my Godson too, he has leukemia, and misses out on a lot such as nursery because he's neutropenic a lot of the time, so has to be kept isolated in case he catches an infection!
  5. Okay, I have an old phone you're more than welcome to - where do I send it to? And I will ask about my friends, I'm sure they might have a couple knocking about! By the way, your Son will love the IPad! i would be lost without my Galaxy tab now I hope he manages to get it asap!! Good luck!
  6. Oh my goodness, that is a cuteness overload!!! And looks strikingly like one of my old baby videos
  7. Even when a civil case is brought to court, and compensation is awarded, the perpetrator doesn't have to pay! Thankfully most slander cases now, especially when done repeatedly, are seen as harassment or stalking by the police (had it myself over this past couple of years). And it is about time that the law was involved in harassment, it can cause upset! I hear they're trying to bring in a law against bullying also! As for CCTV losing a person their freedom etc, I am of the opinion, if you've nothing to fear, you've nothing to hide, however it all is pointing towards a lack of freedom, and a controlled country!
  8. Omg, so sorry I forgot to do it! I am due for some treatment that I have to have every 8wks, and when I need it - it makes me develop the brains of a goldfish! Will do it when I've finished posting on here!
  9. Yes they are, and you're probably right! Although I'm still missing our old friend, the one who used to mimic the neighbours car alarm He was super cheeky, and was visiting us for years! Oh bless you CE!!! You restore my faith that there are still some good human beings left in this world!
  10. Omg, I remember my Dear Dad telling me this joke when I was a kid, but he called them the "wherethehellarewe" tribe Thanks for bringing that memory back to me
  11. Urgh, well that's a bit worse than a lawn mower and an angle grinder!! It's usually the same here most bank holidays, I'm really not sure what it's all about Royal mail make me swear! I ordered some homeopath meds a week ago, and usually they're here the next day - anyway, after a few days they didn't arrive, so I phoned Nelsons pharmacy up, and bless them, they're so good, they just sent me some more, no charge, they arrived the very next day, still nothing though from the first order! This isn't the first time either! I'm dreading what it's going to be like once Royal mail is sold off, although it may well be a better service!
  12. Oh I hear you!! There is no way I would ever want to live the communist way - but you know what CE, we may think we have freedom of speech, but we don't really! It's like I believe that anyone planning on having a child should have to pass some sort of ability test (I know some may be in uproar about it), but there are people out there having children, and they don't even know basic life skills such as how to cook a meal! But, if we starting having laws such as that, then we may as well be a communist country.
  13. At the moment it's gonna be sweet cheery and I've just ordered a Victoria plum, apparently you get roughly 100lbs of fruit per year, so I'm gonna be going mad with the plum jam and chinese plum sauce What made me smile today was sitting in our kitchen having lunch with the door open, and one of the blackbirds that's nesting in our Lalandrii spying on us He was hilarious, and he kept shooting up to next doors roof, then dropping back down into the trees like a parachuter! They're delighted because we had them all chopped and shaped back, it must feel like they've had a home makeover P.S. I will try get a short video of him next time and post it up!
  14. And far healthier for the environment! Wow, I don't think there's barely any messages in my inbox, I shall take a look and go clear them
  15. I would never in a million years defend a person who had committed such a crime that has been reported in the media recently - however, every person is innocent until proven otherwise, and deserves a fair trial. The press are a law unto themselves - it needs tighter regulation imo.
  16. I love fantasy films! Avatar ALL the Harry Potters Narnia Robocop Terminator Alice in Wonderland (Love Helena Bonham Carter) Total recall Men in black (all of them) Back to the future (all of them) Wizard of Oz (I know, cringeworthy, but I love it) Jumanji Matrix I also like a good comedy! Jack and Jill Meet the Fockers Anything with Jim Carey, especially liar liar! Hot fuzz Sean of the dead Paul I'm quite into some action films ALL James bond films! And I also like anything about the end of the world lol! The Davinci code Angels and demons Oh, there's loads more, I'm not a fluffy bunny film watcher either, I can't stand chick flicks, or tear jerkers, they get right on my nerves! I like a good horror, as long as it can't actually happen in real life, if it's about something that could happen in real life, I can't watch it
  17. Ahh such a shame, but at least the truth finally came out before she passed away! R.I.P. Ann, may you fly high with the Angels!
  18. What gets me the most in all this, regarding this bedroom tax (and it's particularly offending me as someone we know are having to leave their HOME after living there for 27yrs, and his wife is heartbroken), is that those who are having to leave their homes, in order to avoid having to pay bedroom tax - are mostly taking alternative housing that usually is more expensive, it's absolute madness!!! I wonder if there will be something brought in for all those families living in "overcrowded" housing? Hmm, I wonder are they going to be paid the same premium till they're rehoused? Somehow I think not!
  19. It just makes it taste as if it's encased in an ice bottle! I'm surprised they're still available to buy in glass bottles, health and safety and all!
