Just wanted to let you all know to keep plugging away. I have just received a letter from the halifax this morning (the day before court action was to commence) that they are settling my £148.00. Only a small amount but it's very exciting.

As soon as my cheque clears I'll be making my donation to the site. One down - one to go. Bring it on MBNA!!!!!!!

Halifax £148 - Prelim sent 15/05/06. £30 offer rejected. LBA sent 07/06/06

****SETTLED 22/06/06****

MBNA £337.49 - Prelim sent 07/06/06

Well done!

It's amazing how inconsistent they are though, taking a claim for £148 to the wire, but paying other claims of £2-3K within a week of filing. By now you would have thought that they would have put a coherent structured process in place to deal with the claims in the order they are raised. But then again... :(

Jeep (The Wife & I)

Halifax joint a/c (£3800 charges + £40 interest on charges over 11 years) - paid in full 23/06/06

Halifax joint a/c new charges £1100 - LBA sent 02/08/06

Halifax 2nd a/c (£1500 charges + £150 interest on charges) - partial payment received 13/07/06 (no s69 interest) - AQ filed 07/08/06 - Court awarded 50% of s69 interest (Bank didn't turn up!)

Halifax Visa (#1) Data Protection Act sent - statements arrived - £350 so far

Halifax Visa (#2) Data Protection Act sent - refunded £170

Thanks guys. I must admit, I'm surprised they got so close to the deadline, but there you go. Certainly not worth getting their hands dirty with a legal fight over such a paltry sum. However, the money will be well spent. A donation to the site and hopefully, the rest will go towards a patent for my invention. All I need now is for MBNA to cough up and I'll be well on my way.

I have to say, 0justlooking - your little hahaha logo is the nuts!!!!

Perhaps they have finally realised it's more cost effective for them to settle before we start court proceedings : I mean, they save 8% interest + court costs on each claim they settle if they play ball earlier, surely ?

Anyroad, well done matey :)
