I received a full and final settlement letter from Lloyds TSB, offering me £750.00, which I rejected, obviously. However this amount was paid into my account. The letter from the bank was their 'final response' and invited me to make contact with the Financial Ombudsman Service if I was unhappy with the banks response.

I did and completed a simple on line form.

Today - SUCCESS!! - the bank have written to the FOS and offered to meet my claim in full, less the £750.00 already paid out.

All this and without the hassle of completing Court Papers.

Congrats to you.

Quick question though, how long did it take from you contacting FOS?

Thanks and enjoy your money!

It has taken about 4 weeks from contacting the FOS, although it will take up to six weeks for the bank to make the actual repayment into the account. Anyway it will be worth the wait!!

Good luck to everyone else

Well done. This is making me think.....I was going to submit claim to Cambridge Courts tomorrow. Prehaps I should be going down the FOS route instead. I would be interested to know what you initally wrote to them and how you went about it.
