Hi All.

I have inputted my information into the Bank Charges Interest Calculator

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=182

I am currently struggling to understand the:

Days Since Offence

and

Interest

sections as they both say #NAME?

and i am not sure what to put the values to.

Does the days since offence really mean how many days from the 'In Respect Of' to the actual date today. I dont think it does but is confusing me.

And what do i type in the interest section as this also has the same NAME values.

Sorry if this is obvious but need help to complete this

Cheers

Shaun

Maybe the formula has been accidentally changed, maybe download a new copy

#Name is an error message indicating that you haven't entered the data correctly or completely.

Once the amount and date incurred have been entered, all should read well. Try to avoid making any other amendments to the spreadsheet as the calculations may corrupt.

Let me know if you need further help.

thanks for your replies.

I have entered my info into the coumns...

I cannot understand what i have done wrong if anything..

In the In respect of: i have added the terms that natwest have place...i.e: Charges, instead of your Unpaid DD, or something similiar.

In the Amount it looks like: £30.00 etc

Date Incurred: 22/02/2004....like the examples are:

Therefore im stuck as the days since offence and interest apr are still showing #NAME?

Cheers

Shaun

Are you using Excel? Some other programs like OpenOffice don't understand the date function.

Also make sure you don't press delete before entering your data, just tab across and enter your data over the top of what's already there

If you are using Open Office then PM me, it's the spreadsheet I put together, so if there are any problems you need to give me a kicking :(

I suspect you have deleted the formulas in the first rows, so I may need to send them to you to paste back into the relevant cells.
