I sent my DPA letter (based on library version) by e-mail to the Halifax on 24 February. Received an acknowledgement as below the following day:

"Thank you for your e-mail of 24th February 2006.

I can confirm that your request has been forwarded onto the relevant department to action your request.

Please be aware there is a charge of £10 for formal requests and your request will be dealt with within 40 days.

I hope I have assisted you with your query.

Regards

Do I need to reply to this and tell them to debit the £10 charge from my account or should I assume they will do this automatically? I assume that if they do this automatically they will wait until they can guarantee it will send me overdrawn so that they can charge me again!!
