hi everyone.

Over the years i have had some financial difficulties.

I have a mortgage with the halifax which i have just transferred over to a normal repaument mortgage.

when i originally set up the mortgage was on an endowment periciple (i have already sent in the papers re misselling)

about 5 years ago i stopped the premiums on the endowment policy, now that the policy is no longer attached to the mortgage i enquired about cashing in.

they sent me a settlement figure of £5,000 less a loan amount of £2,000 approx.

i sent them a letter asking what loan? reply was that it was for a loan for unpaid premiums.

I had a similiar policy with CIS insurance. not tied to property stopped payments 5 years ago, they just treated the policy as paid up and it matures in june 2007.
