Hi,

I got an e-mail (which surprised me) allegedly from HM Courts and Tribunals saying that a MoneyClaim has been made against me today

There's various links and a claim number and also a security code.

Firstly, is this genuine, I thought all court correspondence was done in the mail not e-mail

The company is a window cleaning firm that I disputed the work that was done and the last I heard from them was in March 2021 where they had given the debt to Elite Debt Collection.

They sent me some screenshots saying I'd agreed to the work and how much it was costing - The debt collection agency say this is proof of liability. and they then said payment must be made to them.

However, the amount that the Debt Collector was asking for was different to what the screenshots said

I then responded back to them saying that I don't believe that the value of this alleged is owed

I asked for a breakdown of the of the debt along with a signed copy of the original agreement showing the sum owed.

I gave them 14 days to send me this information..

I have had nothing from them since today when I got this MoneyClaim thing (if its genuine)

whats the best course of action here.

Thankyou
