Hi been reading this for a few weeks now and I have finally managed to sort out the total amount of fees applied to my account over the last 5 years (being in Scotland)

I have been mads at the bank for years having failed to pay out on ppi on my mortgage after a 9 month spell on the dole and then the fact that the account I have, now that the mortgage is paid off, has been reduced to an easi cash account or whatever they call it now, Which gains no interest yet the recieve at least £1000 from my salary each month.

My total is £2310 for the last 5 years in bank charges also making claims for my father and mother and fathers business.

Will let you all know how I get on First letter Letter before action sent recorded delivery today.

Thanks for the welcome does anyone know is this can be applied to an account that has been closed. The assumption would be yes as it has been deamed as illegal however I just wanted to check. Any idea anyone.

I'm gonna try anyway nothing ventured nothing gained.

Just remember that it is always your timescale, so if they don't respond in time just move on to next stage.

Will start the next process soon bu I have given them 14 day to respond to the original letter so see what happens this week. I know they are only gonna come back with a refusal or silly offer anyway so just need to wiat and see. Thanks for the advice.

I recieved a call today from the Bank offering £185 after a 10 min conversation the girl has said that she couldnt offer the full refund of my charges however would increase the offer to £585.:(. this I have refused on principal and they are sending out a letter to formally offer me this amount.

So whats next and where do i get the forms and letters.

I have my spread sheet already to go.

It's all in the Bank Templates Section at the top of the main page. :)

Although you're in Scotland yes? So the County Court Form N1 won't apply. If there are no Scottish templates a call to your local civil court should tell you what forms you need to complete under the Scottish system.

See if this link helps any.

Sorry hon, I'm an England/Wales lawyer. :) The Scottish system is unfamiliar.
