Hi i work in construction like self employed

I have a problem with a contractor i work for hom with 5-6 of my Workers

And i havent been payd for 3 months

What i can get my money? I call him every week but nothing

It's a classic trick used by "builders" who don't do any work but subcontract everything that comes their way.

The then suck the money and don't pay the sub-contractors.

Is this a large company? (i.e. McAlpine?)

If so you will just need to insist and eventually they will pay.

If not you will need to send a lba to their registered address.

Even better, if you have paid for material you can inform them that, as the material remains your property until fully paid, you will remove it after 14 days.

There was a story of a builder in your same situation who demolished a porch to recover the brick and mortar that had not been paid.

The police was called by the homeowner but they said that it was a civil case and the builders had every right to collect their own property (the bricks that hadn't been paid).

The builder then issued a claim to recover expenses for labour including the demolition.

I don't know if he ever recovered this money though.

what have you done so far, work wise at your own expense and trying to get paid.

was there any type of agreement in place before you started working for them.

generally, someone is entitled to be paid for work done
