I bought 2 yrs subscription of avast on 6/11/2014 online and I made a typing error on my email address so I never receive the activation key to install avast on my computer.I have tried to contact avast several times by phone and by email without any success.

I spoke to an avast technician on the 9/1/15 and he took control of my computer and stated that he will fix it but did nothing .Instead he said the computer was slow and he could fix for £80 and I said no ,there was nothing wrong with my computer .

He sent an email to avast sale dept requesting the to send me the activation key to my proper email address. When he came off my computer,my computer crashed.I have not heard from avast since and I have paid £44.99.i paid by Halifax debit card and Halifax told me it is my fault and it is between me and avast ,they can not do anything.

I think you need to give their UK helpline a chance again and ask for an email address to their complaints department just in case you need this.

Their UK tel no is

0203-608-7941

We could do with some help from you.

When you buy software this way there is usually a download so you can reinstall should the need arise. You account will be in the wrong email address name, so go into the account and check out what is in there, the key is usually available.

If not, change your email address to the correct one and then email them again through the account.

This sounds fishy. I doubt an Avast tech would 'take control' of your PC and then charge £80 to fix it coz its slow. You sure you didn't click on another link that was on same page as an Avast site/ad, it sounds like one of the dodgy 'Your PC is slow, click here' ads. ?

No need to pay for Avast, just use the free version it is more than enough.
