Hi, I've been thinking of reclaiming back the "optional" insurances back from BAYV as i wasn't aware it was optional when i took the agreements on. How do i get the ball rolling on this please. I emailed them last night asking if i can reclaim them as i was missold it and within 5 mins i received a reply

"could you please send ur account number and address so i can locate your account"

I did this and Im yet to hear back, they were so quick to reply to my 1st email but not my 2nd, probably trying to think of a way to fob me off knowing bayv.

What are they on about, you can claim any time up to 6 years from the time you realised you had it and it was wrong ?

If you have your statements you can make a start on completing the spread sheet.. which will be the 2nd link down "CI sheet v101"

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?330996-Latest-Spreadsheets-PPI-Claims-and-Charges-Claims-Dec-2011

Then you need to download the FOS complaint sheet from the FOS website, complete that. Take copies of everything and send originals to BAV's head office demanding your money back.

They have 8 weeks in order to resolve your complaint after which time you can escalate your complaint to the Ombudsman.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi

Are there 4 accounts or are all 4 items on one account?

If the former then I would do 4 sheets. If the latter just do one sheet.

The idea is that you are reclaiming on an account, not an item.

As much as ive been looking forward to calculating figures im getting a headache now lol, I have 4 items with bayv, all with different interest rates

Eg, washing machine All Sorted cover = £130.00, interest = £88.79, total amount payable = £218.79 Interest rate (per annum) fixed = 24.84%, APR = 51.39%

Tablet All sorted cover = £90.00, interest = £90.00. Total repayable = £157.56. Interest rate (per annum) fixed = 25.00%, APR = 51.10%

Nintendo dsi bundle All Sorted cover = £60.00, interest = £44.52. Total repayable = £104.52. Interest rate (per annum) fized = £24.70%. APR =50.50%

Maybe I should just let a reclaims company do it for me, too many figures for me to work out, especially with me having a moody 11 yr old and 2 toddlers under 4 constantly fighting 24/7, any wonder my head is pounding lol

A reclaim company won't be able to do anything that you can't do yourself. In addition they would take a good portion of any successful claim as their fee.

In any event, I doubt whether you will find a reclaim company who would take this type of claim on.

Can you post up your agreement please, minus any personal identifiers of course.

Ok so here goes,

I've had a bit of a do with bayv lately, long story cut short,

I reported 2 items that needed repairing and

after daily follow ups i had not heard anything,

6 wks later and enough was enough i cancelled my DD.

Never heard a peep for another 6 weeks up until Tuesday,

I get area manager knocking at my door (bearing in mind hes a friend of mine so it wasn't to bad)

I explained that as i was paying for All sorted cover and reported 2 items broken

but seeing as though never kept to their arrangement of fixing or replacing, I wouldn't stick to mine by paying.

I also explained i'd split with my partner and was struggling to pay anyway.

We came to the arrangement that i would return everything and wipe the debt clean,

but if i rang HIM back the following week he would get me a sofa.

(Yeah right, like im gonna start that ball rolling again)

1 hr later and the Sofas x 2, Washing Machine, Kurio tablet and Nintendo DSI XL were gone.

It wasn't until he had gone that it dawned on me i've paid for 2 items since 2012 and have nothing to show for it

i am now more adamant to reclaim charges back.

The question is,

Where do i start now that i am not a BAYV customer anymore.

Thanks in advance
