A year last Christmas (2012)

My daughter bought me a Grundig mixer, the cast iron one.

A few weeks ago it started developing a fault, Turns itself on randomly, then turns itself off and wont turn on again. The lights on it flash randomly.

I rang their customer service line this morning and was asked to provide proof of purchase, which i dont have as it was a gift.

I have spoken to my daughter who told me she bought it from a catalogue and paid cash weekly it.

she is now trying to get hold of the woman who had the catalogue to see if she has POP.

Grundig CS informed me that the machine is under warranty for 3 years but the 1st year is with the company it was purchased from.

Which is why they need POP. I

pointed out that it was a gift and after the 17 months since it was bought getting hold of the POP might prove difficult

but they told me that without POP there is nothing they can do.

Something i find hard to believe from such a well known company such as this and i had the feeling that i was being fobbed off.

Hi fitty

Grundig can look up the age of the product from the serial number. The catalogue company should resolve this under SOGA. Send them a template Recorded Delivery. You might have to get an independent report on the faulty product, the cost should be reimbursed by the catalogue company.

There's an address on their website where to send the amended template. The POP isn't a big issue, as the company will have the purchase on their records, they should have records going back at least 6 years.

Studio Cards. My daughter has contacted the agent and she is going through her books for the POP.

Thanks luv, I'm going to give it a few days for the agent to get back to us before i start sending off letters. I've filled in the form on the Grundigs website and that did'nt ask for a POP, they have a 72 hour response time, by which time the agent should have come back to my daughter.

This afternoon i got an email back from the query i submitted on Grundigs website. The email was from Beko stating......

Thank you for your email.

"Unfortunately we didn’t manufacture or distribute these products and are therefore unable to offer any assistance. We can only suggest that you contact your retailer or supplier for further assistance."

I rung and spoke to Beko and said i was confused but it seems that Beko and Grundig are one and the same company, They were unable to help but transferred me through to another technical help line. This helpline was in fact Goodmans who told me there was nothing they could do as Grundig are no longer supported. What that means exactly i have no idea .

As i said before the item was purchased through Studio Cards should i now try and seek a replacement through them?
