  1. I work part time in the care industry, usually one day a week on week one and 3 days a week on week two. The hours i work are 6:15 to 20:00 with a few hours off during the day. I travel to visit patients who need care. At the end of my working day i fill in a timesheet, time spent in each house hold and where i visited and email it in to the office. I get paid weekly but wages are 2 weeks in arrears. The week in question was my 3 day working week. I came down with the flu (proper flu, not just a cold) and on the 2nd day of work rang in to say i wasnt well and would not be in work the following day and in fact was not in the work the week after either. I got home and went straight to bed where i stayed for 3 days when i eventually felt a little better i completely forgot about the timesheets. I don't earn loads and its minimum pay and this was my first sickness for almost a year and besides not been well i did not want to pass the flu bug on to elderly and more often than not people who are already at risk to illnesses. 2 weeks later i did not receive a wage. I rang and spoke to the manager who said she was busy and would look into it. Having heard nothing 2 weeks after that i rang again to be told the same thing, I have emailed the accounts dept and not had a reply, I do not even know why i wasnt paid and just assume it was because i did not send in a time sheet. When i am in a clients house i fill in a record form to say i have attended and the time i got there and the time i left. These forms are usually picked up once a fortnight or later so eventually they will have a record of my attendance. I cannot see they have the right to withhold my wages so can someone tell me what my rights are regarding this matter?
  2. This afternoon i got an email back from the query i submitted on Grundigs website. The email was from Beko stating...... Thank you for your email. "Unfortunately we didn’t manufacture or distribute these products and are therefore unable to offer any assistance. We can only suggest that you contact your retailer or supplier for further assistance." I rung and spoke to Beko and said i was confused but it seems that Beko and Grundig are one and the same company, They were unable to help but transferred me through to another technical help line. This helpline was in fact Goodmans who told me there was nothing they could do as Grundig are no longer supported. What that means exactly i have no idea . As i said before the item was purchased through Studio Cards should i now try and seek a replacement through them?
  3. Thanks luv, I'm going to give it a few days for the agent to get back to us before i start sending off letters. I've filled in the form on the Grundigs website and that did'nt ask for a POP, they have a 72 hour response time, by which time the agent should have come back to my daughter.
  4. Studio Cards. My daughter has contacted the agent and she is going through her books for the POP. Christine
  5. Have tried ringing the company again but mysteriously the phone keeps going dead or i am left on hold , after 5 mins i put the phone down
  6. A year last Christmas (2012) My daughter bought me a Grundig mixer, the cast iron one. A few weeks ago it started developing a fault, Turns itself on randomly, then turns itself off and wont turn on again. The lights on it flash randomly. I rang their customer service line this morning and was asked to provide proof of purchase, which i dont have as it was a gift. I have spoken to my daughter who told me she bought it from a catalogue and paid cash weekly it. she is now trying to get hold of the woman who had the catalogue to see if she has POP. Grundig CS informed me that the machine is under warranty for 3 years but the 1st year is with the company it was purchased from. Which is why they need POP. I pointed out that it was a gift and after the 17 months since it was bought getting hold of the POP might prove difficult but they told me that without POP there is nothing they can do. Something i find hard to believe from such a well known company such as this and i had the feeling that i was being fobbed off.
  7. I work for an online bingo and gaming company. They are moving their business to Gibraltar and over the past 2 months have been employing new staff in Gib on a self employed basis. 27 Uk Staff most of who work from home ( as i do) on PAYE have been given notice of redundancy and we are in consultation process at the minute. The reason they gave us for the redundancy was that as the company based in Gibraltar they are unable to pay UK employees, this is due to tax purposes. I have looked on HM Revenue site but frankly I find it hard to navigate. can someone throw some light on this for me please? Also We were all promised a pay rise in September this year and this would be back dated from the 1st July, We've been told we are no longer getting this now because we are being made redundant. Is this legal?
  8. I have a full UK Driving Licence but have not used it in over 10 years and have moved several times since the last time i drove or was on any insurance. I would like to renew the licence but cannot remember what my last address on the licence was. DVLA would most likely find this out but would i have to take a re-test as it's been so long since i have driven. Also not sure of the implications of not informing DVLA of the change of addresses. Can someone advice me please.
  9. Hello again. Well this has been dragging on for ages and i'm still nowhere near anything. After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing between the bank and myself i finally received a letter today and thought you once again might be able to help me with where to go next. "I tried to call you to discuss your concerns but have been unable to contact you" I took the call from this person who after going through all the security questions then asked me for my password, which i declined to give him. He then said he was unable to proceed and would send me a response in writing. " Unfortunately I can not provide you with a recording of the call as we only keep recordings of the call for 30days as the call has taken place, Recordings can only be provided upon request for legal reasons within the 30day timeline" "I have completed my investigation into your concerns and i am pleased to confirm that i am upholding your complaint" Then the letters goes on to say that the agent in questions has had his wrists slapped and that they take pride in offering excellent customer service. I sent off the letter that you kindly gave me along with a postal order for £10 and got back half a forest worth of paper of information. Thanks again for your help. Fitty
  10. Wow! thanks for the quick response. I knew the little toad was lying lol. Happy new year to you both. Fitty x
  11. Can someone tell me if I have the right to a voice recording that was made by my bank to myself? I have requested this from them but was told that they do not have to provide it. I am sure they do and told them a little white lie saying that I had been in touch with a solicitor friend who advised me that it is well within my rights to have a copy of the recording. They did offer me a transcript of the call but I explained that this is unacceptable to me as it will not convey the dismissive attitude or sniggering i received from the young man at the bank.
